  1. Looks nice and bright so it's time to bring those vehicles up out the basement.
  2. I am from an even older school and vote for the lowered version.
  3. Absolutely outstandingly inspirational stuff! I was hooked on these from the beginning and am so very pleased that you have seen fit to continue adding more vehicles in this jenere. They collectively remind me of some "found object" art pieces I have seen like some future builders have scrouned what few pre-apocalyptic vehicle parts available and added the propulsion systems of a new era. Since I owned a real '48 Chevy your '47 hits a real sweet spot with me. I have built a couple jet propulsion devices in the last year that are are sitting on my bench looking for a ride that needs them. Ahhh...so many ideas and so little time
  4. The Imposter Impala actually was a brand new 2009 Corvette purchased off the showroom floor from a dealer near Foose's shop. It was stretched 7" then cloaked in the Impala skin after said skin was selectively shortened by 14". One of my favorite customs.
  5. Real world fit and finish. Could pass for 1:1 in your excellent pix.
  6. Nice work in any scale. I seem to notice a few more belly tankers showing up on the forums lately. Maybe there's a trend developing here.
  7. In the era trailers like this were being built asbestos was not know as a dangerous substance. I remember my family having a 4 ft square asbestos pad on our living room floor in front of our coal burning stove. It was there in case a spark flew out onto the floor when my dad was adding fire wood.
  8. Happy birthday to someone born in the same decade as I was('42). I sometimes wear a t-shirt that says"the first 70 years of childhood is the hardest ".

  9. Very cool. Thanks for posting it.
  10. When laminating sheets I typically bevel the mating edges so there is room for filler at seams.
  11. There's nothing like first hand knowledge of how they real thing goes together when building in the smaller scale. When I started modeling in the '50's the only inspiration I had was black and white magazine coverage. Welcome to the best forums around.
  12. Love your style and stance here.
  13. Great overall concept. I never ever liked the original vehicles but this is very cool. This will be an enjoyable project to follow to completion.
  14. Hopefully being able to participate through the forums will be a positive thing for you. Obviously there are a lot of caring people here pulling for you.
  15. Thank you.Your details are much easier to appreciate in this new photo.
  16. IMHO the sail panels really define the direction of travel and make the whole reversal work. Very creative and cohesive design.
  17. I like the trim you added to the lower edge of the fender skirts. Nice touch.
  18. Build what you like to the level your abilities will allow and enjoy them. There are without a doubt some who would love to be able to do what you can. Aspiring to do better is natural and if any association we share is sure to help with that these forums are just that.
  19. Please do not add the like button. Too much is lost in person to person communication these days due to the ease of simply pushing a button rather than actually take a minute to construct a sentence and post it.
  20. Very well done with realistic looking weathering and creative photography.
  21. Why not coconut what?
  22. Thanks for sharing this with us. Well planned and executed project.
  23. Man I love this one! I have a ton of respect for whoever created the model itself with all the slopes and rounded corners. Looking at the base I am guessing it is carved from wood much like a lot of the car models built for the old Fisher Body Craftsman Guild competitions of the 1960's.
