  1. Oh the lowly " more door" sedan. I've had my share of them in my lifetime. Great conversion work !
  2. Great model of another unique Flintstone resin offering. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Outstanding example of what can be done to bring your scale dreams to life!
  4. Don't want to hijack this post but a long time ago I traced the profile of that AMT skirt, enlarged it and built a tear drop trailer from it. If any of our members bought that slick resin teardrop trailer from the Modelhaus it was made from my master and it all started from that fender skirt.
  5. In a photo op setting this could pass for the real thing. Show room new, shined up and ready to cruise.
  6. Nice car too!
  7. X2
  8. When I first saw the magic word speedster I was half expecting you to cut it in half front to back and narrow it into a single seater. With outside mounted wheels that would make it a true speedster. Oh go ahead..I double dog dare you ?
  9. I particularly like the partially lit photos. It adds an extra layer of realism to an already amazing garage dio.
  10. I saw one of the real Chrysler turbine cars parked on the street back when they were being driven around. This was in west central Ohio. A very striking car for sure.
  11. Snow plows and salt brine trucks here in the last few days with the lovely snow:-(
  12. Old and rusty is pretty much as hard to do as shiny I think. This is very subtle and well done.
  13. Most impressive!!
  14. Welcome aboard friend. That blue bowtie pickup looks mighty tasty!
  15. Glad to see another senior modeler here. Enjoying what we do with our models is a great way to spend some of our leisure hours isn't it?
  16. Outstanding!
  17. I have always thought that all kits are simply raw material.
  18. Try a darker background for more contrast..
  19. I have a lifelong friend who was directly involved in the automotive industry who will tell you that if you don't like how are vehicles look don't blame the automakers....blame the US government and their safety standards. Everyfeature we love to hate about chunky bumpers and other design elements of our cars and trucks can be directly traced back to government mandated standards.
  20. You might check to see if anything is available that is 3D printed.
  21. I have looked at this kit on Flintstone's table at toy shows and this thing is a real beast of a solid block of resin. I do have a Chevy Astro van that is the same way. I'd grind out the inside but that would take about a week! Looks like you will make the 24 hour deadline with no problem. Thanks for posting a WIP of a car that few modelers have ever seen up close.
  22. IMO that box art probably scared more buyers away than it convinced them to part with their money.
  23. I remember seeing one of these when they were brand new. I was in high school in '57 when one of these parked right next to our car. This was the dawn of big tail fins and lots of Shiny chrome so this was really a visually striking vehicle. The one I saw was green as I remember it now. Good luck with your build and for posting your "let's open the box" review for those thinking about adding this kit to their stash.
  24. at this rate you could build 1 model a day for a year and have a display case full ?
