  1. You may want to glue on the side mirrors before painting the body. Also, paint the Front edge of the hod chrome. Perhaps use the mototow chrome pen and mask off the area. Here is one I built about 30 years ago hence a lot of orange peel before sanding sheets and polishes became popular.
  2. Great job. Now if Tamiya can put an engine back there why can't we get a Pantera with an engine?
  3. Welcome to the club. I must say your paint is nicer than mine. I deviated on the tail lights but otherwise built it stock. Great job.
  4. Nice job. I have about six of the older Japanese and testors kits. The Fujumi kit does not impress me for the price.
  5. I have the 70 Mustang.  Do you have a picture of the 71?  Is it an original or reissue?

  6. Another great job as always JC. Look forward to seeing it at the Mid-Atlantic NNL in May.
  7. Looks like a neat kit even for a curbside. Dig deep in your wallet- it is over $150.
  8. This thread seems old already. . I look at how many comments there are and whether if I am interested in the subject. Sometime the thread gets a new life with more recent info.
  9. RIP Wayne. He had an amazing collection of 1/43 models and built hundreds of them. I wonder what will happen to them. Some should go to a car museum for people to enjoy seeing them. I know there is a slim to none chance of them ending up in the Model car museum because they are not plastic or the right scale. He was not afraid to build metal, resin or plastic and enjoyed all kinds of cars. I only met him once maybe 25 years ago but I always enjoyed his columns. All these model are 1/43 if anyone was wondering.
  10. Excellent build. I saw decals on Ebay for this model but someone bid them up to $36. According to Hobby Link Japan they had been discontinued. That explains the high bids.
  11. The front edge of the spoiler is straight. Because it tapers down it looks angled. This is the correct mounting. It is adjustable on the real car - I prefer it to be horizontal versus being slanted. If I had a dollar for every one I have seen backwards I might have $20.
  12. If you are going for accuracy the scoop on 70 9's was black. The 69's were body color. Also, check out pics of 70 tail lights online and how the rear spoiler is mounted.
  13. A handful of Mustang journalists and enthusiasts knew about the hero car (not the Mexican one used in the driving scenes) but the owner never wanted his name or location of the car known. We know the story now - the father died and the son said this is dumb why keep the car hidden anymore. The cas appears to be mostly original but a part here and there was probably replaced or stolen.
  14. I am sure it has its flaws like the GT40 kits but your build looks great.
  15. Looks like the Revell 69 SCJ with louvers from the 70 Boss 302.
  16. I doubt it runs. Someone has a lot of money they do not know what to do with so they built that.
  17. It was not pretty.
  18. The front end was really really bad though. I ditched the 69 style taillight slots with ones from a 70.
  19. Feast for the eyes. I have to get out there someday.
  20. Try sending her a message.
  21. Tell us about this one Ray. I have never seen it.
