  1. Bought some at somewhat local hobby store (60 miles away) last week. I haven't used it yet. 14ml tin was $2.99. greg
  2. Don't have a JetSonic but an Aerosonic that is lights only. greg
  3. Great add on. Would work well on Route 66 tv show Corvette. Just need two prong knock offs. Now all we need is the Luggage rack with suitcases and sleeping bags. greg
  4. Nice job on the robo cop car, Kudos to you for doing the jet sonic right. My easy fix was to cover the lenses with black vinyl electrical tape. greg
  5. Thank you, Aaron, for the input. Years ago, I had a photocopy of this book I used for reference. It is the cities apparatus. Year ago, Larry Mattingly and his father had models of the duplex and the manifold trucks built by Tom Showers. Us that live East of the Mississippi are amazed at the west coast apparatus. greg
  6. Nice to see you back here. Hope you are healthy wealthy and wise.?

Yeah, I haven't been able to build anything in what seems like forever but I still poke my nose here in from time to time.

Is the Model T HO scale? I have USFS shields in several sizes, but all were made for 1/25 scale. I know the photo you based that off. If the model is 1/25 and you just need a small decal, I have some around 1/4" (scale 6") that should work.

  7. Just went through thread and saw the picture of brush unit by 'leafsprings'. The crest on the door is Los Angeles CITY not the county. you make the call. Latest LACoFD door logo. greg
  8. Tim, He uses Mr. Mark Softer for decals he also uses water with drop of dish soap to slide his decals. greg
  9. AMT police car kits (custom 500, robo cop) MPC Dodge 440 police car kits, Johan Plymouth police car kits. Might try plastics distributor for some blue rod. I'll check my stash for some blue sprue. greg
  10. This is first edition AMT ALF pumper I built a long time ago. This kit has had many reissues and under different labels. Manufactured with different color plastics. After I took these pictures it went into the shop for a major rehab. needs some more detailing and some bling added to its chrome. Some new hose as these are shoe laces. The canvas cover is from a 1/35th Bandai army truck. The green covered air pack is the air tank from the chassis white glue tissue covered and on thin plastic sheet stock. Sad that the only available fire engine kit readily available is 50 years old and it is a replica of a by gone company. Original photo:
  11. Took the Italeri fire jeep equipment and transferred to the MPC CJ Jeep. Added tires from Bronco kit, blue flasher is vacuum formed over AMT ALF lens and base is siren front. Modified front of rack as body sides are flat and the kit jeep is older version with fender indent. greg
  12. Where have you guys been? Way back when: AMT 'Star Truck' 77 Ford pick-up, Scratch built functional Holmes body and boom out of plastruk sheet and shapes, Handmade twin sonic light bar, Rims from Aurora 1/32 ALF pumper. AMT LNT Ford taillights, IMC Ford GT shifters, AMT ALF kit running lights and rear spotlights, Jo-Han police car spotlight, AMT 53 Ford pick-up running lights, Hook from AMT 'Pete' wrecker, Electrical tape sling, Handmade CB antenna. greg
  13. One thing I found in building the Rover is that the exhaust has to go through the inner fender, so hopefully you haven't glued it to the manifold. greg
  14. Float plane kits in 1/24 scale if you can find them: Beaver promo kit Trumpeter Spitfire Trumpeter Rufe If you want this and can afford $225.00 die cast Cessna Now I know what to do with the ramps from the IMC/Testors/Lindberg flat trailer kit. greg
  15. Years ago, Pactra undercoat silver worked for me, there's always aluminum foil. greg
  16. Very nice, one suggestion: nice whip antenna to go with that big tube radio. Yea red greg
  17. Nice build. JoHan kits of that era had errors, but they did this one good. To make your comparison between 1:1 scale to 1:25 scale add quarter windows and you will have it. greg
  18. Can you or has someone painted bare metal foil and then applied to a model? greg
  19. looking good. Would the gold look good in the side trim? A nice big old mechanical Federal Q between two gumballs on the roof would be period correct. greg
  20. Couldn't find the larger Revell Blimp picture but here are two of them, Glencoe was a Revell spin off. I had the Navy blimp as a kid, hung it on a clothesline and used it as a target with my neighbors BB gun. greg
  21. The Revell blimp kit was produced in two versions. They also had in the 50's a Navy version of the blimp. greg
  22. Nice job. Is there any way of putting a North American style bogies on the trailer? greg
  23. Keep going, I like the passenger limiters?. greg
  24. Great combination. nice model. Maybe some heavy haulers could tell use, would you transport this with the shovel facing backwards? greg
  25. A big thank you to all who have contributed. To those who will contribute a thank you forward. It is great to hear the stories and memories shared. greg
