  1. I'm digging this one Tom! Love the stance and colors.
  2. Glad you and the family are okay, the images from TV are heartbreaking to say the least. This is going to be a nice truck when you are done, I am liking what you have done so far!
  3. Looks good Dave, glad to see you back! Still waiting on that D series pickup...................
  4. Tower Hobbies has more than one location to ship from and if they ship from their West Coast location, it should be there in a couple of days. They often run specials like free shipping or $15 off an order of $50 or more. They have some supplies, worth looking around their website (plastic-models.com). I have ordered from Squadron and Modelroundup with no problems and fast shipping. Haven't tried any of the overseas companies yet nor have I ordered off of eBay, but as others have stated, there are some great companies out there, depending on what you are looking for.
  5. Sweet, remember a bunch of these back in the early 80's when I worked at a BMW dealer. Might have to save my lunch money for one of these!
  6. Give me a couple of days, I think I have some leftover parts from an old Revell Snap Impala police car. If I can find them, they are yours.
  7. Wondering if anyone else is thinking about wrecker beds for late model trucks like I am? The Meng F-350 is the closest thing we have to a modern pickup and a couple of issues back, Gregg showed us how to cut the cab down into a single cab and that had me thinking about a modern wrecker bed for it, along with a wheel lift. I have also thought about the upcoming IH 1600 resin kit that Charles Rowley has mastered and how great it would be to have a Holmes wrecker bed for it. The world of medium duty tow trucks has been ignored and along with this resin kit, AMT is re-issuing the Ford Louisville truck that begs for wrecker bed too. Feel free to chime in with your thoughts and if you know of sources for resin kits, please share!
  8. Time is my demon. I have a bench full of started builds, some of them 10 years in the making! I have an idea in my head for building a bunch of wreckers and flatbeds for a fictional towing company, just have to finalize the colors and trucks. I have multiples of almost every wrecker kit offered and even a couple of resin kits too!
  9. You sure did! I am watching this one closely as I am jealous of how you are bringing this one to life! I have the newer issue of this kit, still debating if I should try building it or selling it......
  10. Thanks for sharing, looks like a great show (as usual) and sorry I missed it. This show falls on the same weekend as my anniversary and daughter's birthday, hard to get away for it. Some nice models, looks like the Suburban is going to be a hit!
  11. Nice looking build, love the color choices. Need to get mine finished, have too many started and not enough finished!
  12. Thanks for posting Steve, that looks great! Did they remove the lower rocker trim from this kit? I agree on the tires, I think Danny at Scenes Unlimited has some nice lugger tires that would look appropriate on this kit. Nice to see this addition to the Moebius line, will look good next to the Revell Bronco for some period correct 4x4's.
  13. Keep up the hard work Jeff, it's gonna be beautiful when you get it done! Hope your weather holds out for painting, we are having some less humid weather here in Charlotte, need to get some painting done myself!
  14. Could not make the show this year, anyone have pictures to share?
  15. absolutely stunning build, love the color, the stance, the details, it is really beautiful!
  16. She's a beauty Charles, anxious to see this for sale and get a copy for myself! How's the engine coming along?
  17. Prayers to you and your friends that the damage is minimal and that you all get through this safely.
  18. That came out great Jonathan, love the color and you nailed the look!
  19. The 67 also has a separate back up light in the body that was for that year only. The snappers do build well (as evidenced by all the posts here) and if you aren't needing a drivetrain, offer a very nice rendition that is quick to build. I have multiple convertible and hardtop versions of these snappers in my display case for that very reason!
  20. It's rare in that it probably hasn't been reissued but not surprised as Revell had a run of similar kits that were very simplistic in appearance and assembly. They had some GM trucks around that same era and the idea was a quick and easy build for beginners. I say build it if you want!
  21. Revell has partially met the challenge with their snap together F150 Raptor pickups. While they don't offer the detail of a full glue kit, there have been several examples here on the forum of nicely detailed builds and I have a couple in my stash to build. The last GM pickup Revell did was the 99 Silverado and even with a couple of different versions, I am not sure how well that sold as I remember seeing them at places like Ollie's priced at $7.99. Meng did the F350 a couple of years ago and while that has a different appeal, I was hoping that we would have seen more from them with either other makes or models. As a light truck modeler, I would love to see a modern pickup but I think we have a better chance of seeing something older (think Moebius F-100's) before we see a new tool of something newer.
  22. Did ya see if the 'Burban was among the new kits? Any existing kits have their sticker crossed out(possible discontinues)?
  23. Me too! Those colors look like they could have been factory, nice combo and much better than the ones they chose for the box art!
  24. Incredible details and scratch building skills to be envious of. This is one outstanding model and am anxious to see it done. Much to be proud of!
  25. Coming along nicely, having some paint on it means it is getting closer to being finished!
