  1. Closest I can think of are the "alloy wheels" in the Revell '67 Vette roadster kit. Yes, I know they're not an exact match.
  2. Hence my sig line.
  3. All the Liberty Mutuals, especially the wet teddy bears and anything with the emu. I didn't think it was possible for insurance commercials to be worse than the gekko and Flo ones. I was wrong. Also, all commercials for prescription drugs for obscure diseases. Some of these are not only annoying, but downright creepy. And they're all a full minute or more.

Looks good! Next time you're at the Rustoleum store, try a can of their Cobalt Blue Metallic (I get it at Walmart). It's very easy to use and looks great. I've done two cars in it and will do more. Model on!
  5. Looks like I'll be catching up with you in a few weeks. And I joined in 2014. I think you've got me way beat on number of finished models posted, though. BTW, on this eve of Memorial Day, Thank You for your service to our country, Jim. SAT CONG!
  6. He was also in Kelly's Heroes. (I've never heard of Kelly's Heores.)
  7. Here's another one you hardly ever see anymore. Very well done and model on!
  8. Very cool! You don't see these built very often. I've got a red promo that's coming up for rescue very soon. Well done and model on!
  9. No model clubs of any kind at any school I attended, but in Elementary School, one month a year, the main display case at the building's entrance would be filled with student-built model airplanes. I can't remember specifics but I think I contributed a few a couple of years. I don't remember if there were other model types--cars, tanks, ships, trains, etc--just airplanes. There might have been a couple rockets too.
  10. If they're not the same (I suspect not), you should be able to post for them in the Wanted section here and find a set from the AMT '57 Chev. MANY of us here have never used those. (If I knew exactly where mine are, I'd offer you mine right now.)
  11. What he said--fine-tooth razor saw.
  12. This year's winner of The Voice, Cam Anthony, rocks "She Drives Me Crazy" with his coach--hang onto something--Blake Shelton: And the kid also did a very credible rendition of Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive:"
  13. Didn't get it, but saw it at Walmart this week: New (to me, anyway) M2 '69 Z/28, RS, yellow with black stripes, black interior, Rally wheels, CI hood. Looked nice but I built the Revell kit almost exactly that way almost 30 years ago, and I already have an orange M2 Z/28.
  14. Very, VERY nice, especially for your second car. Well done and model on!
  15. Welcome to the club! I've got at least that many of them just for "organ donors" for a bunch of glue bomb AMT '63-'67 annuals I want to rebuild.
  16. No, but I'll see about giving it a look. Thanks!
  17. Very clean build--maybe your best yet! Model on!
  18. And remember, in much modern "art," the F is silent.
  19. Here's my opinion, worth exactly what you paid for it. I happen to be a special fan of original annual '63-'67 Vettes and have accumulated at least one each of the AMTs (coupe and roadster) and three MPC '66s. None of the MPCs is an intact kit so they're builders to me and I've already done one of them. The AMT '67 Vette coupe is a cool old kit but IMHO it is in no way superior to the commonly available "new" Revell '67 coupe. The Revell has a more accurate shape and is MUCH better detailed. The only thing going for the AMT is if you happen to like the custom/racing parts (some of which are still found in the oft-reissued AMT '63) or the decals or original box or instructions. I have several of them (AMT '67s). One is new in box and will remain that way. One was built fairly cleanly and I just cleaned it up and fixed a few things and put it on the shelf. One was built but had a certain amount of glue damage on the body and I'll eventually fix that one and do a nice "factory stock" rebuild on it, just because I like the old AMT kits. If/when I want a really nice '67 Vette coupe model, I'll build a Revell. The situation is different for the roadsters. The Revell '67 Roadster body isn't accurate (though it can be modified to look better). Again, it's more detailed than the AMT kit. But the AMT '67 roadster kit came with optional hard top (which won't fit the Revell kit without modification), a "panel delivery top," a soft up-top, and I think an all-clear top too, and of course the usual compliment of AMT racing and custom option goodies. I've also accumulated several of these. I built one of the Revells and I'll never build another one. My next '67 Vette roadsters will all be built on original AMT glue bombs/rebuilders. Your MPC '65 is an interesting case. Overall body shape is very similar to the AMT (but not identical) and again, not as accurate as the Revell '67 coupe. But your MPC is a '65, and there are no other '65 Vette kits available in 1/25 at this time. So it's pretty desirable (as are the MPC '66 and the AMT '65s and '66s). Would be worth building if you can do a nice job on it; would also be worth just squirreling away unbuilt. Again, just my own opinions on these kits.
  20. If it's cleanly built (and painted), I'd probably clean it up, fix anything broken or missing, see if the paint will take a polish, add minor improvements it needed (such as chrome window trim), and display it proudly as a "survivor." And then go buy and build a "new" AMT '67 Mustang, which is a much better kit. I have two original annual AMT '66 Mustang fastbacks built as mild customs that I did exactly this to, and I couldn't be happier with them. If I'd tried to convert them back to factory stock, I'd have just ruined them IMHO.
  21. No doubt about it. I have the '67 Annual box and that's not it. Not sure when that issue came out--could have been '68 or '69 or no later than the very early '70s. Cool box. I believe the contents are identical to the annual kit.
  22. That AMT '67 Vette will be familiar to you if you've built or seen the oft-reissued '63 Coupe, as most of its parts live on in the current kit. Still pretty cool, though. That's not the '67 annual, but a reissue, might have been the first, or perhaps the second. The molds were later modified back to the '63.
