  1. I'd check out the AMT "Wagonrod" for a frame. It has a complete Art Morrison frame and suspension under it that would be perfect for a modern fat fendered rod.
  2. Thanks everyone. This actually started off as just me showing how the cab and chassis would easily fit together, I had no intention of finishing it when I started. BUT, sometimes these things just develop a life of their own. I am glad I carried through with it and I'm quite pleased with how this pile of junk parts turned out. ?
  3. Tom, ya might want to PM a moderator about deleting the 6 other copies of this thread though. ?
  4. Their website says they're in Quebec so it's hard to say. With the combination of Canada Post, delays at the border and last I heard, Quebec was at least partly on lockdown so it's entirely possible. Even here in Canada, I wouldn't expect to have my stuff for at least another few weeks.
  5. Looks great. Looks kinda orange or rust on my screen but it's a great color for that car. BTW, that kit's 1/25, not 1/24.
  6. Is this the same trailer as in the MPC Dodges from the late '60s? . . . . . . .Just kidd'n guys, I did read the whole thread. ??
  7. Looks super ???
  8. Hey Steve-O,, good to see you over hear. This guy is one of my best buds and was my best man at my wedding so be nice !! ?
  9. I didn't really want to shave off the marker lights Kurt. But the MPC cab had the deluxe style markers molded on and the AMT rear fenders had the standard markers and they didn't match so I got rid of both. I really didn't know what I was gonna do for side markers when I got rid of the molded on ones. Probably would have just left them off as it is a custom street truck but then the Jimmy came out with the decals so I used them. Looking back, I should have put the decals on thin sheet palstic first so they'd have some depth but the kit's more of a shelf model than a contest quality build with lots of other corners cut anyway. BTW, there's no real advantage to the MPC cab over the AMT cab that's out already besides the grille and bumper being separate parts. It's just what I happened to have on hand when I started.
  10. What's more annoying than a full page ad is a one line as with a full page of white space under it.
  11. Now I'm getting actual commercials like they have on YouTube.
  12. I'm not sure but the '72 truck color seems to be a touch more green than this one. It's close and what I had on hand so,,
  13. There's a guy on the spotlight board that seems to take great pleasure in sanding all the trim and character lines off of hard to find models before doing mediocre builds on them that he never finishes.
  14. Thanks guys. I appreciate all the positive comments. It's what keeps me motivated to finish these projects. ??
  15. It's 69 Pontiac limelight green from scale finishes.
  16. Trick is to clearcoat it afterward with acrylic clearcoat and polish it out same as you would the paint on the body.
  17. Looks great. Ya can't go wrong with an old Caddy.
  18. Finally finished it.99% made from used parts with the cab from MPC, chassis ,engine and box from the '66 Revell stepside. Rear fenders and bumper from the AMT GMC stepside. Other assorted bits and pieces from the junk box.Paint is '69 Pontiac Limelight green poly from Scale Finishes. Marker light decals from the recent release of the AMT GMC Jimmy.
  19. If you need a Mustang II front suspension with stock style parts, the only one I know of is in the Revell Beatnik Bandit II kit.
  20. If that doesn't raise the opinion of model car builders in the eyes of the general public, I don't know what will. ?
  21. At the time the kit first came out, white or chrome 8 spoke "wagon wheels' were the most common closely followed by turbine style wheels. There were a lot of choices for white letter tires at the time so any would be fine but remember wire meats on the back with smaller ones on the front.
