I guess there are mostly available from on-line dealers. Have never seen one out in the public domain. Of course, I am relegated to Hobby Lobby and Michael's as my "hobby shops".

AMT '60 Chevy Fleetside Restomod
TarheelRick replied to Tcoat's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Turned into a really sweet street truck. I would definitely enjoy cruising around in that one. That color really sets it off. BTW, it is a Round 2 (AMT) not Revell. -
Sure wish they would repop these parts packs. They are getting hard to find and quite expensive when you do find them.

Beautiful Galaxie. Color is subdued just enough, nothing garish. Got just the right stance also. One quality build.

I think that is going to be one sweet '55 when yu get it done. I like what I see so far.

VW Vancampin'

As the others said, that is some very nice work. Really enjoy your creativity. Love VW vans. -
Dodge L-700 Custom Hauler
TarheelRick replied to slownlow's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very well-built hauler. Do you have any photos of the lift cylinder? That is a nemesis of mine. -
1970 Ford F250

Beautiful work, whole lot of body rot. Pictures look good to me. Very nice build, I like it. -
I may have to modify one of my digital calipers, looks like a very good idea. Harbor Freight has digital calipers ranging in price from $10-50. The ones I have cost around $20.

That Boss 429 really looks righteous between those rails. Very nice and convincing FED. Those drivers had some serious brass.

Very nice collection of work, really like the lakester-roadster. Did you do a WIP on that one? Just wondering about the canopy, some really impressive work.

One mighty fine looking Gasser. Would have never thought of using this kit for anything else but a Super Stock build. Great imagination to build this beauty.

Paint flames the clean ‘n’ easy way
TarheelRick replied to OldNYJim's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Thanks for the information. May wait to see if Hobby Lobby or Michaels puts one on sale any time soon. If not, then will bite the bullet and pay full price. I can envision many projects this machine could accomplish. -
'62 Ford Galaxie 500 Update! 12/23/22 Finally Done! Pic pg. 7
TarheelRick replied to Plowboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Most excellent Galaxie, the paint is note overstated, and those wheels really make it come to life. Nice work on the interior also. -
Paint flames the clean ‘n’ easy way

I have seen many things the Silhouette cuter can do in our hobby. I know there are three or four different versions of that cutter. My question is which one will accomplish what we need at the cheapest price? -
Is it just me or are Verizon phone rates way too high?
TarheelRick replied to Monty's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I've been with Verizon for several years, never really had an issue with them. When my wife passed, I went to the local store to get her phone deactivated and try to switch to a cheaper plan. I was told the plan I am on is the best and cheapest they offer. It is difficult for me to understand why they do not offer a single-line plan that would be cheaper than a two-line plan. -

Post your truck mockups.
TarheelRick replied to Mike C.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Started this one a few years back. Need to get my bench together so I can bring it back out. It is an SRT8RPU. I am considering using a nose piece from the 300C. -
Ramp truck
TarheelRick replied to zaina's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That one has seen a few races. Very nice work and as the others have mentioned some really fine weathering. -
Just now saw this one. My favorite classes of drag racing are doorslammers (stock, SS, MP, GS). Even though I am a die-hard Ford fan, these early Mopars really do something to me. Very nice job and beautiful black paint.

Can never have enough Mustangs, wish I had one. Some nice-looking builds

2022: My year in styrene: 10 creations...
TarheelRick replied to Claude Thibodeau's topic in Model Cars
Extremely impressive body of work, each one is as breath-taking as the next one. You are indeed a styrene artist. I am especially intrigued by the '58 T-Bird. The roof looks like it may have been liberated from the late-model Cougar kit - is that close?
