Looking for This Truck in 1/24...
iamsuperdan replied to spencer1984's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
hlj.com has a lot of this stuff. I have found some Fujimi 1/24 Hinos on there, and snapped them up. A car transporter with trailer, and a tandem axle dump truck. There are Fuso versions too. Have never seen a 1/24 Isuzu truck though. -
Stretched Frame
iamsuperdan replied to thecrossguy's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Just make your own! I am NOT a pro at scratchbuilding by any means, but I tried this. A little styrene and a little measuring, and it's really not too bad. Didn't take much time, and after paint, it's hard to tell the stretch from the stock. And as a bonus, you can pick any length you want. -
Local musician. Went from fronting a punk band named "the smalls" to doing this.

Not Sure if..

That Buick is kinda cool! On a similar note, there's an awesome 60's Cadillac running around shows here. Full air ride, and a 12V Cummins diesel! -
Also, there will be shipping costs involved because of the size, but I have a TON of Carrera track that I need to figure out how to part with. As well as a Carrera lap counter. All anolog, no digital. Also have a couple of Ninco sets .

Hey there! I am slowing getting rid of slotcar stuff, as it's just not my thing anymore. I have a few things that need new homes! SCX Mitsu Evo Rally - original packaging, all wheel drive, headlights, tail lights. Has been run and is in perfect working condition, just has some bumps and bruises. SCX Audi TT - again, runs perfectly, has some battle scars. SCX Seat Cordoba Rally - all wheel drive, one of my favs to run. 9/10 condition SCX Williams BMW F1 - this is the Montoya version. Looks perfect, runs okay but likes to jump the slot on occasion. Carrera Audi R8 / Bentley Speed 8 - these came as a set with Carrera track. THey've been run hard, but are complete, except for the Bentley's mirrors. Perfect working order. Carrera Porsche Carrera GT - black and silver, run hard, visually need help, but run perfectly. These came as part of a promo set sold through Porsche dealers. Ninco Porsche GT3R - again, run hard, some body damage, but perfect working order. Ninco - Mini Coopers - the kids loved these, they run, they look rough. These next cars are all in perfect condition. in original packaging, never run. Scalextric Maserati Cambrio Corsa, with certificate of authenticity. Scalextric Porsche GT1 - Paragon livery AutoArt Porsche 996 GT3 RS AutoArt Porsche 997 Carrera So what am I after? Japenses branded kits - Tamiya, Hasegawa, Fujimi. I like touring cars, I like European cars. Revell VW Vanagons. Malaise era cars, trucks, vans - late 70s, 80s. No Hot rods, Nascar, drag cars, no subject matter older than about 1965. I'm open to a lot of things though, so let me know what you have!

This could be the most realistic build I've ever seen here. Amazing work! -

Although I wouldn't build it Coke style, I like the Ford van. I'm assuming it's the same as the Cruisin' Van? I also like that it has the vending machine and crates. Perfect to add to a diorama. -
I learned that trick here and make gauge faces this way. Results have been...varied. lolz Really depends on the quality of the source image, and the quality of your printer.

Wow. Been following since the start. Amazing work on this. -
Wow, so 3D printing really is getting affordable! Awesome!
-
Ugly. Goofy Looking. Weird. And I really, really, really want one. Scale or real deal! Have always loved Saabs.
-
Wow. That's not a bad price at all. Now of course one needs the printer, and in looking at the quality of your parts, I'm guessing you have a high quality printer, not a cheap one. Still, it looks like 3D printing is becoming more and more affordable, which is a good thing! Looking forward to seeing more of this build!

What did you see on the road today?
iamsuperdan replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hebmuller was the first thing I thought of, but the roof shape is all wrong, and the windshield is too cut down. The real thing has a much more graceful and flowing lines. Well, with the roof down anyway. -
Wow! This looks amazing. Went through your build thread, and I am impressed. Couple of questions. Roughly what scale is this one? How much to you estimate this "kit" will cost you? Materials, image/layout files, etc. I'm, interested to see where costs are to print a kit of this quality.

Nice job! Those first couple of Silverchair albums were really good, and I still bust out Frogstomp on occasion. I've never been able to get a decent tone when trying to record my acoustic playing. You did a good job on this one!
-
Love the groove on this one.
-
Well this a little different for you! I usually pay close attention when I see your posts, and I don't think I remember seeing you build anything but European exotics. Safe to assume that kit suspension (and the rest of the kit for that matter) is going to be completely rebuilt to "Dann-spec?"
-
Thanks! The Ram Air Hood kit doesn't do much for performance though, and the AFE intakes do the same job for less. I went with an MBRP exhaust on this one. Sounded killer! Replaced it with a Ram Rebel and did the same mods. Enjoyed that truck even more.
-
Personally, the fake stuff doesn't bother me much. It's all about style. Additional vents, exhaust tips...it's all good. And I love woodgrain wagons. For some reason though, fake dash trim bugs me, and I can't explain why. I think there was just so much of it that looked so incredibly fake. Forgot one. My old Ram truck had fake hood scoops on the Sport hood, and a fake intake in the lower front bumper. All just styling.

Anyone Getting Ready For Winter?
iamsuperdan replied to OldTrucker's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What? Without finishing the garage, I wouldn't be able to paint or use the work bench in the cold months. October through March would be a write off. But now I can use it all year round, so how do you figure that the 6 months I had is more than the 12 months I have now? You're not making any sense here. -

Not my taste at all, but the workmanship looks fantastic. Only a V6?! That surprises me.
