  1. I was surprised to find the wind wings are actually hinged making it harder to replace! I also found out that the CSX number cited on the rear tag was not issued by Shelby according to the Registry. And those black spots won't come off with alcohol or lacquer thinner, and suggestions?
  2. I finally found a Franklin Mint Cobra I was comfortable affording. It is the "bare aluminum" version of CSX3036. The seller warned it was from an estate and I appreciate the warning and the reduced price. The driver side wind wing is missing and one of the jack forks is also. The body needs cleaning as there are black spots all over it but shouldn't be too hard to clean. This is my first Franklin Mint Cobra and I am anxious to compare it to the WIX, Welly, and ICONS diecast versions. One thing I did notice which surprised me was the side pipes are plastic.
  3. Thanks for posting. Some very useful ideas on the video.
  4. Just came in the mail. Published in 1962 by the British modelling author Cecil Gibson and focused mainly on the Merit racing kits the book is a jewel if you appreciate the early 1/24 Merits, Premiers, and Strombecker kind of kits.
  5. These are the 2 I have and can recommend. Like Matt the Doug Nye book is excellent the other focuses on the racing Dinos.
  6. Thank you for the review and the photos Gerry. Is that engine and transmission a one piece casting? Best wishes on the build when you get to that point.
  7. Aren't we mixing the -77 with the -78? The Tamiya box shown is the 935-78 and the others shown are the 935-77. My photo is of the Tamiya 935-78 built back in the dark ages and the decals have yellowed because they were not clear coated. Nice build JC on the 935-77.
  8. Ah yes, my mother's home town Milan. Also a lot of American Indian history east of town and I have a collection of arrow heads collected as my grandparents walked behind the horses plowing the fields.
  9. X2 Tom. I was lucky enough to buy and restore a '63 and a '66 back in the '70s when they were cheap. Hated to see them go but with 2 kids they were not practical for a family.
  10. Another beautiful model from Fernando. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Always liked this Bentley. Wish there was a resin transkit.

  21. Very creative idea.
  22. Junk store Randy? Looks more like a treasure trove store. I really like the Town and Country Chrysler.
  23. June looks real good. I hope you get good reaction from your co-workers and maybe recruit some new or retreaded modelers.
