Since I can't afford the real thing it won't matter if I like it or not. Let's just hope that we get some better C8 models then the C7 ones so that we can at least take pride in showing off our miniature Vettes.

Few people build these 1930's classics by Mononogram so I look forward to following your build. I have this kit in my stash so your build just might encourage me to bring it to my workbench.

That's going to be a colour selection to burn your eyeballs out. I look forward to seeing it done.

That appears to be the Gunze kit. I buit one several years ago and recall that the vinyl inner door sides had some fit issues near the front but they could be easily fixed. A nice kit for a curbside and buildable both as a hardtop and as a conv. Gunze had a nice range of small sportscars and if the molds still exist I wish they'd be reissued. I look forward to seeing your built.

An unusual colour but one that looks good on this Lambo.

Me? Doing a Ford? Nahhh!!!! Really? (LeMans Ford GT)
robertw replied to ismaelg's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I recall a respected friend recently telling me that they were just going to build a couple of these Ford GT cars as basic as possible. I guess that must not have been you my friend. For a basic build it's looking mighty fine. -
Yes have had it happen several times and always with Testors cans. It has happened with cans laying on their sides and with some standing up, I've also had a couple of duplicolor cans do the same think but the Testors cans appear to fail had a higher rate. I've never had it happen with a Tamiya can. All cans are kept indoors in my model room at normal room temps.

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
robertw replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Here's a not only dead but long buried but it's not a car...sorry. Going through a storage space recently I came on a Hasegawa Lockheed Neptune box that I had long forgotten. Since I've recently been on a bit of a program to finish some dormant kits I decided to take a serious look at this one. Written inside the lid was....fuselage glued 1983....maybe it's time to see if it can be finished. -

Love the color. A very different look on a '62.

Good clean build and a very nicely applied paint. Factory correct builds are often not given the recognition they deserve, this build deserves recognition. Well done!

I found one of those Shiloutte trailers in a parts box recently. and have been wondering what to do with it. I hope you'll post pics when you have the conversion complete on yours.

Well done young fellow and you took a chance and made in properly grungy just like it had just come out of some off road time. I hope this will be the first of many models.

Raised details, like trim and badges
robertw replied to Luc Janssens's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I'm sure its possible and I'd gladly pay a little extra. I used to buy self adhesive scripts and logos for a number of the European cars from Strada (boy I sure miss them) but no one seems to make them. They would be great for chrome name plates that appeared on most American cars in the past. The molded in plastic ones always seem to get lost under the paint we apply. -
Time For a Workbench Makeover!
robertw replied to 2002p51's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
One has to be carefull about doing work bench do overs. I moved a couple of years ago and I'm still finding myself reaching for things where I used to have them and then having to look around wondering where I relocated things to. Two years later and I still have lost stuff. -
Adrift in a sea of losers! Throw me a line!

Revell Germany did the Isetta in 1/16 last year. Haven't bought one because I'm not into big scale but they are still around. The double kit of the KR-200 and Isetta are quirky but both are very buildable. Built both just a few years ago and wish I could find that double kit kit again. I also wish a conversion kit to do the KR-200 Tiger existed. Aaah if wishes were horses, or however that old saying goes. You do have a good haul of choice kits, well done. -
Aaaaah, those were the days, I built many of those kits. I just wish I'd kept them.

Seventh edition ! I think I need to order a new one. I'm still using their third edition and finding it useful. Does anyone have an address for ordering this book?

I am sure that we are all hoping for the best for him. For anyone who has had back problems, and that's a large percentage of us it is one of the most debilitating medical problems that you can be hit with so we all sympathize with him whether we're facing his level of pain or something much less.

I agree. As soon as I saw your model I thought that it looks like Fawn Beige which is a fairly rare Corvette colour but a beautiful one. That will look great when it is finished.

Your choice of colour fits that car perfectly, also great photography.

That looks as good with the C5 deck as the factory C7. I really like how you did the Jake emblem on the hood.. A very nice build of a kit that tends to fight you.
