  1. That is sooo cool, Rex. Looks very much like him! Where'd you get it? Did you paint it?
  2. You might try craft stores like Michael's for a display case like that. I remember them selling display cases for collectibles a while back. They might have just what you need. Possibly check online too, I know diecast collectors use them a lot for their cars - and they don't even build them!? (my dig @ diecast collectors)
  3. If they would have given us the window option, I would have considered that a worthwhile trade off. Or the Open Road Mini Motorhome parts! Big hint-hint, Round 2!
  4. Wait, they reworked the A Team van just to GET RID of the roof ribs? Why? Those were accurate, the smooth roof is not. Aarrgh!
  5. Oops sorry Snake, I misread your statement, I wasn't trying to jump and step on any toes. My bad. I thought it was your build. Sorry.
  6. I could use 'em, Ill trade you or pay your postage. Please PM me. I wish I could have hit you up for the scooped hood before it was ground off. I have the smooth one from the racer version and I've been looking for one of those for awhile now.
  7. The L700 was originally an IMC kit from the 60s - Lindberg just acquired the tool and ran it. They didn't design it. That was also the case with many tools they've bought from defunct model companies like Pyro, Palmer, Hawk, Aurora, Life Like, IMC, etc. That may be why their quality is all over the map!
  8. Chevy Cavalier (French - pronounced "Kuh-vahl-yay"
  9. Beautiful, flowing lines!
  10. Awesome details, but the opening in the middle of the bumper looks like it should be more square. Check your pics. Me likey!
  11. Ford Mustang "Muck 1" Dodge "Dingo" (Durango) Saturn "I owe" Plymouth "Plowler" Mercedes Bents Chrysler "TP Loser" (PT Cruiser) Dodge "No one" (Neon)
  12. Those are hilarious! How about the Ford "Grenade-ah", Ford "Expulsion", Ford "Festiva-L" (that's a real one) Honda "Civvies" (underwear) Nissan "Titan-ic" Toyota "Taco" or "Coma" Slob 9-3 Audi "Innie" Ford/Pontiac "Trans Fusion" (a corporate collaboration) Dodge "Cram Van" Ford "Transition" Subaru "Outhouse" Scion "X Box" Nissan "Moron-o" There's a guy at my work who has a heavy accent and the way he says Ford "F----" is unrepeatable here.
  13. Anybody else get a kick out of coming up with new and interesting alternate names for cars? At the shop I work at we have fun changing the names to more aptly describe the cars. For example: The Nissan "Joke" VW "Tiguana" or VW "Rotten" mini van. How about the Kia "Farte" Hyundai "Accident" The Suzuki "Viagra" Mitsusushi "Outlandish" Ford "Exploder" One of my favorites was always the Dodge "Decrepid" or the Dodge "Gurney" Anybody else have any more?
  14. I read that the fires ripped through the town in minutes, and people didn't have ANY time to escape. I'm afraid many of them didn't even have time to leave their houses, or couldn't outrun the fire in their cars. I pray that many will be found displaced but safe. My heart is sad for all the victims.
  15. Actually Ron, I wasn't commenting on your statement, but someone else's, who went off topic.
  16. Our "models" are the only ones we can touch, caress, and stare at constantly and not get an elbow poked into our ribs (or worse), from our wives, for being inappropriate!
  17. Really?! Many people lost everything, some even lost their lives and you're splitting hairs over whether it's a "muscle" or "sports" car and how many are for sale? At this time - who cares? Please try to show a little more concern and respect for others on their situation at hand. I'm sorry, but that response ticked me... Seemed a bit insensitive.
  18. David, I think you're referring to the '78 Little Red Express Truck.
  19. Sure was some classic iron there. That 60 Chevy was a convertible and would be worth a mint nowadays! So sad. But I guess back then they were considered just old junk cars.
  20. Only the Pace Cars had silver interiors, the Silver Anniversary Corvettes had an interior in oyster grey, burgundy, red, dark blue or black. BTW - the contour seats shown above were available in 78 only on the Pace Car editions, and from 79 onward. 78 regular and SA Vettes had the same seats which were flatter and less contoured. 78 Pace Car... 78 Silver Anniversary... So for the Revell/Monogram Pace Car kit, with the seats it comes with, you can only build it as a 78 Pace Car. However, it can be built as a 79 Corvette with no changes.
  21. Suggestion: The bumpers look too wide and stick out too far from the body. Try tucking them in more and removing some of the overhang on the sides. Shape is good, there's just too much bumper hanging out the sides. Car looks good, keep it up!
  22. Rick, FYI - Its being worked on and improved as we speak! I've gathered the correct turbo engine and taillights from an 87 Daytona Z that I already had, and I'm widening the skinny seats to look more accurate. I'm photographing and documenting the build as I go so I can post it here later on. Stay tuned, it'll be back! Patrick
  23. What about the chassis' from the 62 Chevy or 62 Pontiac to fit under the 63-65 Rivys. Same generation, different GM division.
  24. What about using the small block from the 69 Z28, I think that would be a better starting point for the 350. Plus, since it came out of the Camaro chassis, it would probably fit with less trouble.
