Take your time with it. Best to test fit everything to make sure it fits well. I find installing brass or styrene pins to positively locate finicky parts is a great help during final assembly. Good luck with it.

Good idea, I should have done that at the beginning. Good idea also.

I like to put pins in those before paint so that very little glue is needed at final assembly.

TIP FOR CLEANING PAASCHE AIRBRUSH
NOBLNG replied to DavidChampagne's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Nope, never had a problem leaving them in there. -
Anybody have any things you have done that did not turn out as planned or needed correction...kind of an anti-tip? I made a copy of the Revell Jeep Honcho frame out of styrene sheet. To make matters worse, I laminated .060” and .040” to get the .100” that I wanted. It worked OK, but the seam of the lamination is a pain to fill. Next time I will invest in the proper thickness of sheet or use rectangular stock. Well, live and learn.?

Cool! Looks like it was just dragged out of the bush.?

Excellent restoration job. The colours look great on it too!? -
Awesome. Quite the imagination you have.

Really nice restoration job there. It looks great now!?

Very nice! That Merc does look almost real.?

I have seen large tubs of hot dog “meat” being pumped through hoses to be put in the casings. It was almost totally white in color before the liquid smoke flavouring was added. ? I will eat a hot dog if it is the only thing available, but I won’t buy them. Not big on smokies either...I prefer farmers sausage.

Paint not drying on resin parts
NOBLNG replied to NOBLNG's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Well it came pretty clean. I think I must have filed off that raised area and then primed and painted it right away. I’ll let it dry real well in the dehydrator and then give it one more try with this old paint.? -

Thanks! It’s in the pond now. I cast it myself and have extras, so we’ll see what happens. -

Can resin be stripped in Super Clean, same as styrene can? -
This paint was put into an aerosol can many years ago for me by an auto paint supplier. I sprayed this dash weeks ago, and it has been sitting in the dehydrator since. There is a raised portion of the dash that I filed down...and on that spot, the paint is still liquid. How long after casting does resin need to cure before painting? I must have painted this just after the filing that exposed fresher resin?

I have a buddy who is a self-described hooligan and a real talker. A telemarketer called him up one day and Murray kept him on the line for over half an hour before the telemarketer called him an a**hole and hung up!?

Your picture and story about Pip made me smile! Funny, that movie with them in the phone booth was on tv the other day on a channel I never watch, and I tuned in just because there was no info at all about the movie in the guide. That’s when I realized it’s not a picture of John.?

This is a very nice little kit. Be careful with the chrome on it. Mine peeled off when I removed some masking tape. Hopefully it’s not an issue on all of them.

Yes, how in the world does someone get that good without breaking every bone in their body? My Buddy was in a local motorcycle trials club. They held one event of the World Round 80 miles east of here in Rennie Mb. Back in 1992. I volunteered to help and got to watch some of it up close. Amazing what they are capable of!
