  1. Nice subject. My younger brother had a white one with a black vinyl top in high school.
  2. Very nice! Great stance and color. Congratz.
  3. WOW! I would be proud to have that on my shelf.
  4. I wanted a photo booth too. Ended up spending the last 3-4 months making it into a diorama/photo booth. Still need to work on the lighting. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/154551-grand-opening-of-the-american-restomod-workshop/
  5. 34"W x 11"D x 9"H because that is as big as will fit in my display case. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/149032-90-display-case-with-addl-glass-shelves/
  6. That looks like a start to a hay hauling rig. Just need and additional flatbed trailer connected via pintle hitch.
  7. Are you going full tube frame too?
  8. Thanks David. I took it outside so everyone could see all the pieces in their true colors. After setting it up, and taking the pics, I actually carried the whole thing as set up into and through the house. All the magnets did an awesome job of keeping everything upright and in place. Only the little boxes fell down. I will end up putting magnets in those too.
  9. Thank you Ron. I tried my rookie best.
  10. David, Thank you for the compliments. I do have one more detail to attend to which is a transparent ceiling with LED lighting. However, I have finally have it assembled enough to make it presentable. I am display space limited so I have actually had to leave out some features (Rest room, office space, exterior etc.) One of the reasons I built is was to have a background to photograph completed builds (WIP too I suppose). Here is a link to the completed build in sunlight. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/154551-grand-opening-of-the-american-restomod-workshop/
  11. Jim and Carl, Thank you.
  12. Thanks Jim, It turned out as well as I had hoped.
  13. I present to you my 95% finished diorama. It was a long but fairly enjoyable project. Below is a link to the WIP thread. Comments/suggestions welcome. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/151082-4-bay-day-2-hobby-garage/
  14. I am nearing the end. Here are the latest WIP pics.
  15. Finished the right side wall today. The Chevelle hood is only a placeholder (too many flaws) until I paint up a permanent replacement.
  16. David, Thanks for the heads up. We have pretty decent humidity here in Oregon most of the year. However, in my house the HVAC system keeps it around 50%.
  17. Brad, Sure. I was eyeballing a lot of G scale brick sheets on ebay but never pulled the trigger. (My diorama already blew WAY over my original budget), Anyway, my "brick" walls are simply PREPRINTED paper I got from Hobby Lobby or Craft Warehouse for around $1 a sheet. There is no texture or relief to it. It is just an illusion. I used Pioneer brand 'Embellishment Glue Stick' which applies like Chapstick. It is applied to standard white foamboard which is lightweight and stiff. It adheres well and doesn't wrinkle the paper due to moisture like Elmers glue would.
  18. Finished decorating the left wall yesterday.
  19. Will do. Should be pretty soon. I just finished the left wall. On a separate subject... If you have experience using an airbrush maybe you could teach me some pointers. The kit I ordered is supposed to be here Friday.

    Ice T

Nice build. I used to work in an ice production facility. I have always been intrigued by this particular kit due to its name.
  21. My favorite is a vise as well. It is an old discarded Panavise that was missing its base. The shaft had internal threads so I found a stainless steel bolt that would thread into it. My Grandpa gave me a HEAVY disc shaped piece of metal he called a "standard" for measuring something on Union Pacific locomotives. I TIG welded the head of the bolt to the disc and threaded the vice onto it. It is so stable that I never need a 3rd hand to steady it when using it for modeling or soldering electronics. I can also position it anywhere on the bench. It is really handy when scratch building parts.
  22. Nice Camaros. I like the assembly line method. I usually build two to five of similar projects at the same time. It helps me to wait for glue and paint to dry while still making continuous progress. It also lends itself to a bit of parts swapping without turning an otherwise complete kit into an organ donor. I finished 2 Freightliners earlier this year and 4 Chevelles late last year. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/147864-2019-a-chevelle-year-apparently/ http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/148169-brbo-2020-triple-drive-white-freightliner-coe/ http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/150940-white-freightliner-coe-day-cab-dual-drive/
