  1. I glue a thick sprue piece with CA to the roof right where a dome light would go. I then hold the body with an alligator clip on a bamboo stick. It permits spraying and viewing every square inch of the body without obstruction. A model box full of corrugated strips glued together holds the item while spraying other parts. When done, the sprue piece snaps off cleanly where I can the touch up with interior paint or make a dome light.
  2. That drawer set looks like an efficient way to access a LOT of stuff quickly.
  3. My supply is a bout 50/50 of 20+ year old paints and new. What I have been finding with the new ones are that the caps are not fully tight. I suggest to every one to crank 'em tight.
  4. Thank you for taking us along on the journey. I have been amazed at most every step of the way. I have attempted some your techniques in my present WIPs. Thank you for the inspiration.
  5. Nice build. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for sharing all the pics with the different trailers too.
  6. I decant cans and needed to store the extra paint. I got a set of eye dropper bottles with labels from Amazon. The set I got are no longer available but I am sure you could find something similar. https://www.amazon.com/Lab-Dropping-Bottles/b/ref=dp_bc_aui_C_5?ie=UTF8&node=393356011
  7. Your build is sensational. My mom had a boyfriend that had a White Hat 440 Magnum 69 Charger in B5 blue. He took us to 120 mph in it when I was in grade school.
  8. You have done a fine job there. Did the tires come in the kit?
  9. Simple mods like rectangular head lights and Dayton wheels. Maybe some different fuel tanks. Call it a parts pack.
  10. I go old school mechanical. Channel lock pliers. If it is really bad then then I use my plastic jaw Pana-vise to hold the bottle. Too lazy to clean the cap/threads after every use.
  11. Builds in progress use the original kit box until done. When complete, the bottom gets reused as a parts bin (or recycled) The tops get folded and stuffed in a stack under my parts dresser. If the box has been damaged, it hits the recycle bin. I have not yet reached the point where I am out of display space for my builds. I HAVE reached the point where I am out of space for my stash. I have two large boxes of unbuilt/never-will-get-built kits I need to make go away. I would be happy to trade them off even at a significant loss as long as I am not wasting more cash on shipping them.
  12. I use CA glue very sparingly for just this reason. It likes to mess up glossy and/or chrome surfaces.
  13. WOW! Well done. If it were a 1:1 I would be scared to ride in it.
  14. Those look great. Curiosity question. 1st Gen Monte Carlos only came with 350 SBC or 454 BBCs. Your 427 callouts, were they for some class category with a displacement limit that your were trying to duplicate?
  15. I stuffed a 427 Cammer in an AMT 67 GT. It was quite a challenge. I also stuffed an AMT 67 engine bay in the lame AMT 68 Shelby THEN stuffed a 428 CJ into that. Lastly I put a Boss 429 into the Revell 69 Mach 1. You just have to be motivated.
  16. Semantics. It seems to boil down to each person's definition of the words they use. Kind of like when we all used to agree on the definition of "they" or "them". "Time's are a changin'."
  17. I use MS Outlook 2007. I too have tried the "block senders". Some go to the Junk folder but most do not. Also some stuff I approve of will randomly go there too. My Outlook has been broke as far a deleting messages. (It won't let me) At present, I have 48,007 UNREAD emails. Maybe I will get to them if I ever get to retire.
  18. Does not seem to be a problem with my Firefox browser.
  19. Very Pretty. FYI, GM engine compartments are generally semi-gloss black unless you had the rare red plastic inner fenders.
  20. I line mine with Press and seal film. I also run my fans in advance of painting.
  21. Nice progress. I did a black one with red interior and a red one with a black interior.
  22. A buddy in the Navy had a black and silver one. I am pretty sure it was an 87.
  23. Great job! With some scanning and decal printing you could have matched the 1:1 decal colors.
