  1. Sweet build! Look killer!
  2. Nice progress!
  3. Looks cool! How about transplanting more of the rear of the viper, the Stealth taillights are not the prettiest ones.
  4. Been doing some work. I am reusing the Silverado torpedo wall just making it smooth so I can adopt race parts to it. Engine will have to come forward around 7 scale inches to clear the intake runners.. think I will make them smaller so i can show of the nice Katech valve covers. Time will tell. Had to straighten the chassis again after gluing it together. Some heat and it seems to be straight again. Any thoughts, positive or negative, ideas or tips are highly welcome!
  5. Looks Epic! Stance looks good!
  6. Looks realy cool! Great work there!
  7. Looks good! nice details you are working on! I walk past one of these with BBS wheels, mint condition, every day when droping of the kids on kinder garden.
  8. Game pur great as said before! Was expecting this thread to pop up under glass in other racing so I didn’t finde it first! Nice pics of it!
  9. First of all, great build! I will be following! Here in Sweden we have quite generous laws towards custom cars. You can build your on chassis, with your own design. Slap a fiberglass body resemble an old car and then it can be registrered as a new but old car and does not need to be inspected ever again! We also can take a junk body without papers and build it up with parts and register it as an built up car. LS sWaps are also common.
  10. Was mostly staring at the parts today.. but I managed to get hold of a second kit so I can rob glass of it. Will cut the new bed apart as well since I have noticed mine is not in the best shape. If I hadn’t so much work in this time frame al ready I might dig in to the problems and solve them but now.. na I get the other kit so I can rob it. I managed to cut the bumper to try it out. Not sure if I like it.. looks to much like a nascar truck. I might go with a stock bumper after all, or I use this one and glue the part I just cut of. Would be like a 1 inch shoped bumper I guess.
  11. Looks beautiful! That livery is intense probably allot of work as well! Great carbon work! Is it pre cut carbon? beautifull work keep at it!
  12. I was thinking of a folding one or a hinged one but will need magnets and alot of fabing.. we will se what i come up with
  13. Nice. Are those made on free hand?
  14. Great work! Bold to make it dirty! Looks cool. To bad about your details not showing since you have the tint. At least we know it’s there ? I have a similar issue. I will make the under bed area detailed since it looks really cool with the corvette rear end, but I am not sure how to display it. Folding rear canopy? Fabric folding canopy. Time will tell.
  15. Made some progress on the C5-R silverado. chassis and frame is stretched. Cage is found. Placement of the wheels is set. Will need a lift now but getting there. more to read in its own thread under wip other racers.
  16. Made some steps in the right direction to night. made the placement of the cab definite so now I have the final placement of the front wheels! Milestone! I narrowed the baseplate to70mm so it fits within the body. Actually just 1mm more narrow. I glued some supports to the body so the height to the chassis is set. Also made som progress on the cage. Will be a Revell 1/24 nascar cage with some height adjustments and some trimming. Fits better than the Vette or 911 cage I had.
  17. Thanks! Yes I saw that! Real cool! I was doing the same with the C5 but some thing with the body threw me off. Keep yours coming! thanks! Me to, will raise the rear a little so it will be straight. ?
  18. Haha! Tanks for those words! I hope I won’t disappoint!
  19. That’s a killer looking racer!! Will be following!
  20. Hi al! For 2021 years Cannonball run I really wanted to join! My plan was initially to build the Corvette C5-R as a more stock looking C5 corvette and race it across the continent. I really wanted to open the hood to display the engine and address the windows to look more like the real deal, but due to the casting being out of thick plastic I did not feel up to the task! So I looked through my stash of body’s and found this short cab Silverado that seemed plausible for a conversion. The cab started out as a glue bomb that I made as a teen. I post it in this section since several other competitors have posted their builds here I thought I do the same! The starting kit is the Revell 2001 corvette C5-R. Body and bed is from the Revell ‘99 Silverado that have been shortened to be a short cab. After some hair dryer action to the chassis it was straight and flat enough to assemble the framerails. Time to measure and cut. I need to extend the chassis 12,7mm. Took the grinder to cut of the top parts of the cage. Used the saw to cut and extend the framerails. Base plate is next, then on to fixing the bedsides to the cab permanently.
