A fantasy Sunbeam Tiger build turned into a duel when I decided to add a Cobra build to the mix. The Cobra is also a fantasy build but more rooted in reality because I based it on csx 2026 in 63 Sebring spec but portrayed as a fictional, down a few years, privateer racer. The challenge with the Cobra was starting with the Sunny/Minicraft/Revell kit. The kit has series 1 chassis but more or less a late series 3 S/C style body. I did my best to retrofit it to look the part by slimming it down and adding the Sebring spec flares and reshaping the nose opening as well. With the Tiger I just had fun and built big fender flares. My first time doing body alterations...lots of learning in the process. Many scratch built components or detailing stuff from the formidable aftermarket sources, all detailed in the w.i.p. section. All finishes brush painted using a mix of Vallejo and Tamiya products. Thank you for watching

Tiger Cobra Duo

Time to complete this project. Exterior trim (glass, lamps, fuel filler etc), then bringing together chassis, body and wheels. Calling these two done! Complete set of pictures will be taken tomorrow for posting under glass -

Very nicely done Tim. This is a hard kit to work out into a model that really looks like the real car. So so much better than my own effort ( the 2 I have built are now in the scale model graveyard) Beautiful detailing and paint finishes. -

Got the interiors done, with the exception of the Cobra roll bar which will be done after interior is set to the body. The Cobra was pretty easy, basically kit parts with addition of my own IP gauges and toggle switches, seat belts and fire extinguisher. The Tiger is a similar approach but also a substitution for the driver's seat as well as fabrication of a roll cage. -
Wow, that big old Ford really looks the part. The paint looks beautiful and the color right on. My friend, you have mastered brush painting. Looks smooth, the color is very rich and with just the right amount of gloss. I love the way you have set the stance low just like the 64's were. You're giving me the itch to tackle my 64 Ford. Not for now but I will definitely copy your stuff...again! This is a superb model of what may be my favorite sixties stock car. It looks so much like the real car.

Thanks guys. Next on the check list is fire extinguishers. My stock is empty so I decided to fabricate them. -
Beautiful build. I'm no expert but the colors look good to me.

Entering the final phase. Some of the smaller components need to be improved or scratch built. Example: jack hooks, not present in the kit but needed for a racing Cobra. Made it with 2mm angles and 1.2 mm rod. A bit large in the end so will need to find ways to slim them down for my next Cobra build. -
Fujimi Lotus Europa 1/24

This is a nice build Ray. I always saw beauty in the weirdness of the Europa. I'm sure quite a few of them were club raced. -

Congratulations Tim. An absolutely gorgeous replica of a brutally fast and scary race car! Top notch build -
Gorgeous, impeccable build. I love the color.

Beautiful paint job. Gold is tricky and you nailed it. A very promising build.

Thank you for the kind remark guys. I added the Future seal coat this morning and I am quite happy. On par with my Corvette GS which was my best result so far. Pic below is in my display cabinet under harsh (un diffused) LED lighting. -

First time this year I did not stop building to work on my handicap. My handicap sucks.... but then again it did on previous years when I focused on it! ? -
Kits requiring following instructions. This means this is something new and exciting. Give us a hint please?
