  1. Very nice. The Pontiac makes a great ute.
  2. Yes, great news indeed. I'm definitely in for one of the RS200s. I am really impressed with the catalogue these guys are creating, especially in the vintage/slightly vintage rally car field. And the rate they are spitting out new tools is impressive as well.
  3. Cheers Snake, that's good to know. I'll keep searching.
  4. I guess I have two bucket list models; - the AMT 67 Mustang Mach 1 show car - and the (potentially mythical) AMT 65 Plymouth Valiant (or Dart) I've almost pulled the trigger on the Mustang a couple of times on ebay, but either the prices or the kit condition were not favourable. And despite reports otherwise, I'm still wondering if the Valiant is a unicorn. It's my grail kit.
  5. I won't buy models at Michael's. The prices are ridiculously high, and I refuse to support a business model that requires me to jump through hoops by using 50% off coupons just to get a kit at a reasonable price. Won't do it.
  6. I have been wanting to go to this shindig for decades. I am now looking in to the possibilities of going before it is done. I have never been to a large model show before, and there are plenty to choose from, but this now legendary event seems like a 'must do'. I'm sad to see it go, but I really appreciate the advance notice, to give time to plan.
  7. C'mon just lets go
  8. Very tasteful. I like it. A lot!
  9. Porters Lake, Nova Scotia.
  10. I got a Badger 200 IL for Christmas when I was 15 (1981). It's still my only real airbrush to this day. I really want to try gravity feed, though, and have been eyeing up a nice Iwata.
  11. I'm digging the style of this build. The colour is right on, and the steelies are perfect.
  12. Love me some early Jag. The D-Type looks great.
  13. AMT '67 Mustang fastback.
  14. Cool 'club racer' build. These 914s are really growing on me. You did a fine job on this one. Is the Revell kit the only available kit of this car in 1/25 or 1/24?
  15. Cheers Dan. The Pantera is very cool, BTW, and they all don't have to be showroom smooth, just poking a bit of fun.
  16. I agree 100%. This trend of not engraving emblems and badges on the body tooling is very worrisome. Anyone for whom realism is a goal, PE rarely looks right, and decals are a pathetic representation of badges or scripts. Good clean molded in scripts and badges with sharp relief can be made to represent 1:1 items very nicely, much better than any other method I've seen or tried yet, with the exception of some well done metal transfers, but those are expensive and will not likely be seen in kits such as marketed by Revell (and they are easy to screw up).
  17. Well, it is a custom.
  18. She did a seriously good job on this kit. The detailing is well done, the door shut lines are as good as anyone could expect from this kit, the build is clinically clean, and the paint is absolutely superb (gee Dan, maybe you should have her take a look at the finish on that black Pantera ) It certainly is a struggle to get this old kit together, though it is one of my favourite ever. Kudos to you, Tina. Exceptional work.
  19. Cool looking Triumph. You captured the look of the typical SCCA racer very well. Nicely done.
  20. I use the flex shaft on a variable speed Dremel, and I love it. Mine hangs from the ceiling just to the side of my bench. The Dremel has a metal bail attached to the back end if it. I have a piece of lightweight chain attached to the bail and the other end attached to a screw hook in the ceiling. When using the Dremel, it is hanging from the chain. When not in use, the bail itself is hanging from the screw hook. When not used for a long time, the working end of the flax shaft is stuffed into the screw hook also, which stows it well out of the way.
  21. I pin everything mounted to a painted body. I usually use 1/32" brass rod to make pins, but also use .025" and 1/64" rod for pins where the small contact point of the object to be attached warrants it. All gluing is done on the inside of the body shell, super strong and zero visible glue. I have a Tamiya Mini Monte Carlo racer with the roof rack for the spare tires. The rack is pinned to the roof at each of the four roof rack legs. A fellow at a contest once remarked that the attachment of the rack to the roof must be very weak, given the lack of visible glue. He almost had heart attack when I reach down and picked up the model by the roof rack and shook it around.
  22. A very tidy quick builder. Love them old woodies, and good on ya' for putting a Ford mill back under the bonnet. Nicely done.
  23. Cool build. I like the concept, and the colour really suits. Nicely done.
  24. Congrats on getting one built. It feels great completing a build after a long hiatus. Looks great.
