Definitely. In the age of the computer it's too easy to respond in haste. When we wrote letters there was a chance to rethink things before they got mailed. As far as the issue with parts replacement it was the people who took advantage to get free parts. It's not hard for the companies to figure out what is happening. And of course they need to curtail the theft.

Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.

I agree. Do the best you can to fix it. Chalk it up to experience. My view is unless it's a rare kit or a body with mods or heavy detail it doesn't make sense to strip it.

I would suggest keeping the cans in the garage and only bring the cans in to warm up when you are going to paint. Maybe a day before.
