  1. The biggest thing is to see how many builds you are comfortable with and how much space you have. I have about 3 going. I have several box lids I use to keep the smaller parts from getting mixed up. You need to find a system that works for you.
  2. Know-it-alls seldom know everything as they proclaim.
  3. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. May he RIP. I always enjoyed seeing his creative creations.
  4. I hope he's OK. I've enjoyed the stuff his done especially his custom 49 mercury.
  5. Got my 218 today. Glanced through it and another great. Will be reading it from cover to cover today.
  6. Impressive work. The body looks great.
  7. Nicely done. How did you create the parts of the transmission hump from the plastic. Beautiful work as always.
  8. Given that there is a wide range of variations in plastics used in kits it may be that it isn't compatible with all ,it plastics. It depends how extensive there testing has been. Given the price of current kits it would be really bad to miss a kit up and even worse with an older rare kit. Think I'd stick with alcohol or easy off I have never heard of issues with them.
  9. You definitely need to be able to have time to yourself. Caregiving is stressful. My dad had Parkinsons and my mom was his primary caregiver. She needed time for her self. The term is respite. You have to take care of yourself. It is why you need to contact a support group for dementia caregivers so you can deal with the stress.
  10. Looking good. Nice to show that beautiful body work in raw plastic. Are you getting close to paint? Have you chosen a color.
  11. The modifications are subtle but add to the look. Looking good.
  12. Great start. Interesting technique for lowering the rear. Keep up the good work.
  13. I see that the same railroad had another derailment in Ohio. However there were no hazardous cars and the impact was less catastrophic. Obviously the system is broken.
  14. I agree. However that's not how those in charge think regarding the cost of a disaster cleanup. It's bad enough that there is less people and time for inspections but when you compound that with longer trains you are increasing the risk of disaster.
  15. Unfortunately as long as the cost to clean up a mess is cheaper than preventing it we will continue to have the problem. That's the current mentality unfortunely.
  16. Waiting patiently to see more progress on this great project. The truck and trailer look great also.
  17. Great project. It's always great to see how others approach solving various problems. It may be just because it's a mock up but the hood has a slight slant uphill to the grill. Doesn't look like it will take much to fix if necessary. Will be watching your progress.
  18. Rust can be removed with Coca-Cola.
  19. I'll wait for the official report before I pass judgement. Too much speculation going around. Plus the official report has access to all the facts. When that air show crash happen a while back the cause wasn't what everyone thought happened.
  20. Nicely done. Looks like you're off to a good start building models.
