Container Ship Adrift in Atlantic with...
bobthehobbyguy replied to TransAmMike's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Exactly. And when cargos can't be moved or the insurance cost is greater than the cost of training properly, will the shipping companies train the crews properly. Unfortunately this is the mentality for lots of companies these days. -

True. But adequate training costs money. If there is no consequence for poor training there is no incentive to do it. Most companies feel it's easier to clean up the mess rather than do it right. -

Ace an interesting thought about a way to get rid of unfinished product. Although I think the fact that lithium batteries can be easily damaged is the more likely culprit. Also depends on how gooddc the quality control is for the batteries. -

Sounds like a reasonable approach. Eliminates the chance of damaging the plastic with the stripping process. -

Glad to hear crew is safe. Bet there are going to be some really unhappy dealers who were getting those cars. No doubt some lost sales also. -
date and price guide of models

Another thing to consider is what you are doing. If you're setting value is going to be for insurance it will be different. For sale ebay will give you a general idea. However as said something ia only worth what somebody is willing to pay. -
1990 Mustang LX - SVT Cobra DOHC Powered! UPDATE! 1/22/23

The engine is stunning. Great detail painting. Such a great project. -
I think that Steve would have the names ,those people didn't want their name on the list. But several disturbing points. This saga has been going on since 2016. The last update says he somebody else has the car and he needs to get photos and dimensions to create his project. Second I understand the idea of doing lots of things yourself to save money on a project however there are limits. Finally I believe he was asking $50 a pre paid kit. So 500 kits would generate about $25,000. That money has to pay for a computer, 3d printer, and materials for the 500 kits. Somebody explain to me how that works. Forgot to include shipping cost. As Bones on the original star trek would say "it's dead Jim". That's all I'm going to say on the subject.

Glad to hear all is well Tom.

Nicely done. Impressive work. Its a shame the car was never run it would have been a mini blowing sound.

My condolences to his family and friends. We've lost some great modelers in recent years.

Thanks. With all the craziness in the world today and the fact that this is out of character for Tom is my cuase for concern.

Bill or anybody with facebook access would you see if you can connect with Tom on facebook. I would if I had an fb account. As said this is not typical for Tom. Thanks, Bob

I realized I haven't seen any posts. I looked and he hasn't been on the board since Jan 24. Hope he is well. Bob

Given the number of discussions about why there is no common sense in the world why is this a surprise. When a package of microwave popcorn has huge warnings when opening the package the contents are hot. The bigger question is whether he can accept responsibility for his mistakes and learn from them.

What would YOU like to see as a model
bobthehobbyguy replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Also when the model companies are at shows they usually have a pad looking for ideas for future subjects.
