  1. Another awesome job! That top looks great! Has that early California look!
  2. I am building an altered drag car 1932 Victoria and I am really leaning toward using the 413 Mopar that is in the AMT 1949 Mercury for the engine. I am looking at the '49 and it looks like the motor is supposed to be a Dodge or Plymouth super stock 413 motor backed by a factory 3 speed, which I believe was a Borg Warner unit. It also looks like the rear end is a Chrysler or Dana unit. It is definitely not stock. Anybody know for sure what the transmission and rear end in the Mercury kit are supposed to represent? I am thinking of using the fuel injection and front cover from the AMT "40 Ford sedan on the Chrysler motor. I know that motor is an Olds, but I did some googling and found a real set up similar to the one in the sedan kit that was made for big block Mopars. Even the front cover is similar. Not going to make rivet counters happy, but certainly close enough for the type of build I am going for here and I think it looks pretty cool. I like to use Trophy Series era stuff as much as possible and detail it to the point of plausibility, lol! I have a set of headers from the Tony Nancy 22 Jr. that will work on this motor too. Not 100% sure about the transmission that is molded to the 413, it might be the weak link. Guess I could swap it for a 727 Torqueflite, if I want to go to the trouble. I appreciate any help or thoughts on the matter! ?
  3. Another beautiful job! Love that top!
  4. I have seen that too, around that area at about that same time. Cars and motorcycles. They don't have much regard for "civilians" and there didn't seem to be much, if any police presence either.
  5. Very convincing weathering! Very well done!
  6. Great job! Love the color and the motor is outstanding! Super nice pro streeter!
  7. That's about as nice as they get! Hope the model project works out for you! ?
  8. Great job! Love the color! Excellent!
  9. Super job! Love it!
  10. Great looking hot rod! Nailed the 60's look perfectly!
  11. This is how I do it too. Thousands of items over the years. ONE time I was rushing and skimped slightly on a Johan Cadillac Convertible and didn't properly support the windshield area and it bit me in the rear end. Arrived with a smashed roof. The buyer was nice about it and I did everything I could to make it right, via refund and return postage etc. But the other thing about people who ship things poorly is they are often indignant when you go looking for a refund or replacement.
  12. The Monogram 1932 Ford Sport Coupe from around 1960 and the 1968 Impala SS hardtop. Had both TWICE and sold them. Very foolish.
  13. Great job! Even though I have never built one, old stock cars are so fun and interesting to look at. Like everything about this one!
  14. Outstanding work! You models are among the best! ??
  15. I will get this, but the double axle is too goofy. I will have to figure out a single axle, dual tire set up for it.
  16. Nice job! The kit graphics look great on it!
  17. Beautiful work! Great stance, color and as always, attention to detail!
  18. I'd go with the Cragars, fits the feel of the car much better. You have a real late 60's vibe going with the work you did and that 413 Mopar, the Cragars work better.
  19. Cool! Nice motor work! Love C10s and K5s
  20. Nice job! Super cool motor in the wagon!
  21. I second that! Would love to have a hardtop or that Historic Racing Miniatures trans kit, is it still available? I could not find anyone who sells it.
  22. Great job! Nice 60's custom vibe and super paint work!
  23. Outstanding work! Could easily be mistaken for a real car and not a model!
