  1. Worth doing! Tweak your suspension a bit, since you'd be putting a 119" wheelbase frame under a 117" wheelbase body. Biggest visual difference is the gas tank area. 65 has conventional wide, flat tank and 66 has spare tire well and conformal tank to match. Just cut and pasted that area of the floor. It would be a huge detail improvement underneath! Jim, I now return your thread to its regular schedule! I am looking forward to this build; these are some of the crown jewels of GM as far as I'm concerned!
  2. Nice, realistic build. Great job, as others have stated, on the rust/stains.
  3. Groovy! Great color that works well with the graphic stripes. What a cool collection of '70s rides! Pure nostalgia, man. Thanks for sharing.
  4. She's a beauty, all right! That color is so rich and perfectly applied. Very well done.
  5. This has really been a fun project to follow, and is looking SO good!
  6. Nice model, and super interesting bit of racing history! Anyone know if there was ever a 1/25 or 1/24 kit made of this car?
  7. That's sharp! Perfect color on the car for gold lettering; it just looks "racy" and right!
  8. +1 on your color mix; beautiful and unexpected color! Engine bay is quite realistic. Your hood fit is not objectionable at all, the model looks really nice. Well done.
  9. Man, that is just excellent use of parts box stuff! KOOOOOOL!
  10. Very nice! At 1/32 scale, there's all kinds of detailing possibilities, a guy could go nuts in the cockpit alone. Bravo on your choice of this workhorse of a plane, and looking forward to seeing your progress.
  11. There was a release with stock wheels (hubcaps), but it's harder to come by for some reason.
  12. That thing is just FUNKY KOOL. I love everything about it! What a blast!
  13. HA! It just looks like atmospheric reflections that make make jet black have bluish highlights! Close enough for me - I still love it.
  14. So sharp! In my book, you can't go wrong black with red interior! These bodies are just so handsome; always thought the mid-size Buicks were HIGHLY underrated. Great save.
  15. That really is a good looking, subtle color. May I ask what it is?
  16. Always loved this body style, and you did the model RIGHT! It was fun to follow your build and see it come together. Great job.
  17. Glad to see this one is back! I like your lighting idea, and was in fact looking at the pic with all the added teeth and thinking wouldn't it be cool to see an unearthly red glow behind them; maybe a red LED down in the throat out of direct sight?!
  18. I say, if you want a red and white car, build a red and white car! Do it YOUR way. Let's say you were a young man around the year 1971, and you bought a used '56 Ford that needed a repaint. Wouldn't you have had it painted red and white?! Model THAT car. Maybe you'd even add a few performance goodies under the hood, or some after-market wheels...?
  19. Nice build! That's a cool color scheme; let's see some more pics!
  20. This one was fun to watch, and a great save! I love how well that simple orange works for the Nova! Good job.
  21. Stunning results! Your foil work is immaculate and fine. The colors are beautiful, especially that red interior. The variation in the "chrome" surfaces on the dash and console add much realism. Engine bay looks like a showroom display. Overall, one of the nicest builds ever seen of this model kit. VERY well done.

    Pinto promo

Cleaned up pretty well! Love the blacked out trim.
  23. Love that color! Who made this kit?

    T-Bird

Sporty! Don't see enough of these built up!
  25. That's a cool drag car! You captured the flavor of the real one for sure. Looks like some VERY tricky header work on both the car and the model. What the heck are the front wheels on the cover car? Looks like a throw-away spare! May I ask what dark red paint you used? It's a beautiful shade of red. Oh, you better add that tranny cross member before it hits the pavement!?
