  1. I would say this guy defiantly knows what he's doing and understands the systems he's working on. I have two questions for Bill on this particular job that I wonder about. #1 The rear brake shoes. While they show a good about of lining left, I notice the ends of the shoes are not cut back at an angle. In days long ago when replacing the shoes and having arced them to the trued drums the leading edge would be cut slightly where the shoe first makes contact with the brake drum. I was taught that this may or could create a vibration and or cause the shoe to "catch" on the drum when first applied. At the very least it would smooth out the initial contact I would think. #2 Reatatching the wheels, even though they are already jacked up. Again, I was taught that the lug nuts were to be tightened by going to lug nuts on the opposite side of the bolt pattern when tightening. and they should be tightened in stages and not using an air wrench or other power tool to tighten the lug nut as hard as you can. Reasons I have learned are to prevent the wheel from being tightened off center and damaging the seat on the wheels itself and or the wheel center and the end of the axle. Wheels should be tightened by crise crossing between the lugs and tightened to a manufactures spec. Over tightening and not tightening in a proper manor may also warp a rotor if over tightened, especially when working with a car like the one in the video that has what could be called questionable quality parts. Your thoughts Bill, Am I looking for the fly droppings in the pepper?
  2. The KC Metro area got some snow last night along with single digit wind chill and blowing winds. The drift in front of our garage door goes from bare concrete to over the top of the snow blower intake that the guy who is clearing our driveway has. Lot to be said for maintenance provided living on days like this.
  3. How about a Dodge Magnum SRT Wagon? Besides the 400 + hp Hemi and 5 speed O/D Automatic transmission they have fully independent suspension with four-wheel disc brakes. For those who haven't had an opportunity to drive one of these cars you should know there is a reason that so many Law Enforcement agencies have used cars that share the basic chassis under these cars. They have great handling and brakes. Some may find the ride a little stiff compared to whatever they have been driving, but the ride is very sure footed. The rear seat folds like many others and the area behind the rear seat holds more cargo than you might think. The seats are very supportive, and your butt doesn't go to sleep after a hundred miles. Gas milage, depending on driving style, would be in the mid to upper teens and with a gentle right foot 20 mpg isn't out of the question. Clean ones on the market today that have been properly cared for will bring more than what they cost new, so resale shouldn't be a problem either.
  4. That sounds like a great deal. I'm sure the same car would cost that or more in my area as well.
  5. Great looking rebuild. Very extensive body work was done on this. The Pearl Green color looks good on this.
  6. Beautiful looking paint finish. I like the cleaner look without any hood stripes.
  7. Beautiful looking color and paint finish. Great looking foil trim.
  8. Should be an interesting build to follow.
  9. Great looking car. I always wanted one, but the wife insisted that we had to have a four door to haul around the mother-in-law. We have to make do with another Charger. What driveline did you get?
  10. Another possible supplier would be Hobby Lobby if one is in your area. They sell a Zing brand embossing powder in many different colors. I haven't noticed any with an iridescent or metallic appearance.
  11. You mention a load of sand. Are you thinking something like sandbags? Or those tube-shaped sand filled things or just a pile of sand dumped in the center of the bed?
  12. Beautiful looking paint job. Nice clean looking trim. The "Candy" paint treatment isn't seen enough lately. Think about trying this same color over a gold base for a real deep dark look sometime.
  13. Beautiful looking finishes and excellent chassis details along with the engine. The paint color shows the great body lines that this car had as well as your model.
  14. Is painting the pistons and the cylinder bores a new racer secrete? Maybe painting the crank shaft and the bearings might help.
  15. The paint finish and color look great. I like the rear seat cover on these.
  16. Nice two - tone paint treatment.
  17. Great looking paint work and I like how you did the privacy glass option.
  18. What a sad looking Rabbit, and I mean that in the best way. Great looking weathering.
  19. These bumpers look as if Chrysler used a three-part setup. The end parts look very much the same. The center section looks like the part that they made changes too for whatever model they were using them on. This would have been a great cost savings to produce.
  20. Great craftsmanship on this build.
  21. Great detailed explanation of how to modify the suspension.
  22. Great looking paint and color.
  23. Great looking truck and I like the theme.
  24. Nice to see this one is back on your work bench.
  25. Wow. A lot of attention to the fine painted details.
