Great looking color and finish. I like how you did the carb. linkage.

Great looking build. I like how you turned it into a roadster. The chopped top version that Revell came up with was just unrealistic looking and the reason I never bought one. I should have and did something like this.

Beautiful looking '67. The tail lights look much like the Pontiac Tempest of that time. I always liked the 15x8 Corvette Rally Wheels also.

Nice engine and interior so far.

This was a very advanced kit when it was first released. While it is not as well done as the newer Revell release it still builds an excellent '49 Mercury. I used to rob the flathead parts from these kits for my other Ford projects. So what engine are you going to use ??

The moth should have been wearing his seat belt. Looks like an interesting project. I'm wondering about the orange colored suspension and exhaust. Were these parts panted or from maybe a Camaro kit issued in orange ?

Great to see one of these getting a lot more detail.

I like your Hurst style paint scheme.

I like the little '56 better. The primer and chrome wheels is about as far as many of my cars got way back when all I could afford was a couple of cans of Krylon.

Interesting to see just how basic the spectator areas and the lack of garages that came a few years later. I used to work for Union Oil Company and my day job as it were was at the Colton Distribution Center a few miles away. I would work for Union Oil at the track during many of the races including the Stock Cars. This was a time when Pure Oil and Union Oil were in a merger and since Pure was the fuel supplier on the eastern seaboard Union Oil became the supplier for the west coast. I worked at the Union Oil station in the pits area suppling the fuel to the race teams. In the summer of '69 there were several rows of garages and a larger Union 76 station that wasn't there at the time of this movie. Several grand stands and restroom facilities were added for spectators along with a large media building and much more. When these pictures were taken the pits look like little more than a dirt area with possibly some pavement. The only way I can tell is that I know were the garages were built around the starting line and behind the pit wall. As Deuces II mentioned some of the cars arriving on two axle trailers towed by pick up trucks. Many of the drivers and team owners, not including Gurney for sure, were area short track teams and often this was their first time to get into "the big show". I would wager more than one of the those west coast cars even had GMAC payment books. These cars were far closer to what was on the showroom floor than what we see be raced today. No special steering or brakes and they had to carry a manufactures part number. They were the kings at fudging things but this was real driver skills and endurance to last 500 miles.

Beautiful looking Impala. Very accurate looking interior. Shame about the white walls. I have built several of these and others from that era and haven't had any issues with them.

This should be interesting to watch.

Great looking interior.

I like the sleek lines of this build and the colors work well together. This would have been a real "sleeper" in it's day. All of the hi performance options that Ford offered on their full size models could be had on the Mercury also.

1962 F100 rebuild

Those tail lights look like they belong on a semi or something far bigger than a pick up. To bad about the damage it caused to the tail gate. -
This is going to be a very nice looking street rod. I like the way you pulled bits and pieces from here and there and it all just looks like that's the way it always was. Perfect color selection to show the body lines.

Purple Pickup

Very cool looking little truck. I can see this being done in 1:1 but it would never have the level of finish seen here. I remember your trailer build, that is special also. -
Great looking build and excellent paint work.

Beautiful looking El Camino. The black finish will hide no sins on the body. The question about the wagon and this, they are related in that Revell offered the El Camino first and the next year they offered the wagon and they share many parts including the big block engine that couldn't be had in the wagon from the factory. Very nicely done and stayed true to the OEM look except for the wheels.

Midwest Surf Shop IH Scout....

I like the theme and the paint looks great. Best looking scout I think I have ever seen. -
Great looking build. I think Chevrolet called that color Firethorn, sort of a metallic maroon finish.
-
Great looking build, especially considering what you had to start with.
-
Besides the great paint and detailing, I like the COPO look of your build.
-
Great looking paint work and trim. The interior looks very clean. I remember when you had to lift your rear suspension in order to get the oversized tires under the car.

A very realistic looks Firebird. This was the for mainstream model that most purchased. Like so many others I also remember watching the Rockford Files.
