  1. Besides being an amazing build, the short time in which it has come together. Your Wheels have always been what I have associated with anything in the VW/Porsche line.
  2. Ya I know what you mean.
  3. If you stay with the SS Grill and other markings the Cowl hood would have been an option. Just in case you never noticed, Chevrolet and other after market suppliers have sold more Cowl Hoods than were ever supplied in '69. I put one on my base 1:1 Camaro as did most of the people I knew that had Camaros from '67 thru '69.
  4. You went all the way on this making it a Business Coupe with the short roof. Great looking paint finish.
  5. This really looks nice. I like your color scheme with the lite colored wood.. That's the stance I always strive for also. I have seen that resin body at the local Hobby Shop, think I'll has to see about getting this one and the panel.

Sounds like you will have enough to do during the quarantine. Summit Racing is another I was going to mention but I didn't realize how far you were going beyond the struts. I have gotten parts from them through the years for different cars. The last thing I wanted to order from them was a K&N setup for our new '19 Charger but was able to get it direct from them for the same money so I went that way. What model Jeep do you have ? Should you need any parts info there we have used several different sources for JK. Good luck.
  7. Now that's funny.

Glad you're feeling better. You mentioned getting some parts for your 200. I have bought some items from a local Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone. If you haven't already I suggest going into their web sites. Do a little window shopping and be sure to put in your cars description and join any of their free only programs. Daily I get E Mails with special offers on parts and spend so much they give you so much off. They both offer a range of products and brands and the prices are pretty reasonable. I have found them better than Amazon and Rock Auto for the most part.
  9. Steve, I completely understand, Sounds like you have a similar appreciation for the '66 Pontiac as I do. I'll take a look and see if I have the Demon, but I think not. I don't have many Buick kits but I'll check that also. I'll let you know either way as to what I may have.
  10. This must have been the latest reissue and I have the original kits in my stash. They kits I have had a multi colored lines with small flame type ends at the tail lights. I thought you had added a raised surround on the wood trim also and that is the way I might do it, kind of OEM looking finish.
  11. Beautiful looking build. I like the way you did your interior, the seat inserts look just like a cloth insert instead of vinyl. You might want to describe how you did your wood side trim. These are neat kits and I have enjoyed a couple and I might even try that "woody" look on the next one.
  12. You are in luck on that panel. The body came out in great shape.
  13. Sounds like a normal day 2 type build, and I like that. I would have to see a picture of the rear tires you mentioned, but remember this is just about the time the 60 series tires started to appear on the market and anything wider would be pretty special at that time.
  14. I guess I'm not understanding the color for the headlights. I'm seeing the color red in your photos, is it possible to control the color ? I'm thinking white would be best for headlights and maybe even the interior lights. The red nitrous lights make sense.
  15. Wow, so the battery box is in the engine compartment ? Where all are you running the lights too ? Is Red the only color choice ? All very amazing. Living where I do the local Dealerships only send us a flat "key" made out of some unusable metal.
  16. First off I'm admiring you build and all of the details. I often watch some of the Rally Racing on YouTube and the above picture is what is often seen. You mention the color White for the Chassis bits and one thing I have noticed is that most of the cars seem as if the underside is often painted the same color as the top. I wouldn't suggest doing it any different than what you're doing, but I just found that interesting.
  17. You seem to be looking for color ideas so I'll offer mine. I like that you mentioned keeping the color a little more on the subdued side. The #40 Butternut Yellow was a "soft yellow" much like a late '60's Chevrolet color. #75 Dark Gold Met. is like the photo you showed and I like that as it is a rich looking color. #81 Sunset Silver Met., hard to tell from the photo of the color chart as Silvers in general seem to confuse camera lenses and often doesn't show it's true color. The color chart one looks as if it has a hint of the 1965 color Evening Orchid that is either a love or hate it color, I love it. The Firebirds and Camaros, in my mind, always looked cleaner and sleeker without the Vinyl Roofs that were so popular at the time, mostly because dealers ordered their inventory that way for additional profits. The Camaro style Spoiler would look better than what Firebird had at the time, or go with out. What ever you do I'm sure it's going to look great and I'm enjoying watching your build, especially the body work.
  18. Since it was a Prototype maybe it wasn't painted at all. Could be bare steel or some sort of primer. I understand you're wanting to get this correct so I wish well in your investigation of the color.
  19. I guess you never really realize just how big these are until it's passing you on the freeway. I lived for a time in Lompoc Calif. and it's located next to Vandenburg AFB. IN the '60's and '70's they would launch Weather Satellites there often in the evening. Lets just say you would have to wait to finish any conversations you may be having at that time.
  20. I think I remember you posting these pictures before. I may be able to give you a few suggestions on your conversion. The Revell kit as you know is of the limited edition 396 SS model offered by Chevrolet. The primary difference on the trunk trim is unique to that model car. Look very closely at the outer edges of the rear fenders just beyond the tail light lenses on the kits body There is a very faint outline of what would be the normal SS tail moldings. This ends at the point that the OEM molding would have run across the trunk lid. This molding can be created by using some very small half round from Plastruct. The center section between the tail lights can be done by removing the kits chrome part between the tail lights and use a slightly larger half round molding aligned with the top and bottom edge of the tail light. The clear red tail lights have an extremely fine ridge that could be maybe highlighted with a chrome pen to replicate that molding. I have studied just such a conversion in the past, but other projects keep getting in the way. I'd like to see you build a model of your car. I have done this same thing for several cars I have owned through the years and I really enjoyed the memories that come back to me on such a build.
  21. You might look through the Resin/Aftermarket Section on the Forum. There's a list of after market companies web sites. They might not have exactly what you're looking for but you'll be able to see what is out there that you could use. Several of these suppliers specialize in 4 X 4 conversions for existing kits.
  22. Well Steve, What other sorts of kits hold an interest to you ? I have several Revell and AMT kits going back many years. I have a few based on Import vehicles, but for the most part mine are US vehicles. I have a few pickups, Corvettes and a couple of NASCAR. Many are still sealed so there shouldn't be any missing parts. Send me a list of your interests and I'll see if I have it.
  23. She has some very interesting work. Just a heads up for those not on Instagram, you will be able to look for a few minuets and then you're given the option to sign in or join, but no more viewing.

Looks good. I think this is the only one I can remember being done with the correct colors.
  25. I see red and blue lights reflecting on the dash board and I think I even hear the theme from Cops in the background. " What ya goin to do when they hit you with the blue light ??
