You might want to check with some of the after market computer/ tuners if you have to reprogram you computer. This may even allow you to dial in a little extra power.

I use Sta-bil in all of my small engines gas for storage. The non blended gas is a good suggestion on any older small engines. There are parts in the carb. that start to break down with prolonged exposure to the blended fuels. Most of the newer engines have been produced with the carb. parts updated so that the blended fuels should not effect them.

Great looking build and the wood trim addition really sets it off. The interior is the most impressive to me. To bad it's not a convertible so that the interior can be better seen.

A lot of creativity in this build. Well built.

Very nice, great color and interior. The last of the 409's in early '65 models. Did the intake come from the AMT '62 Bel Air kit ?

Beautiful looking Chevelle, and the Mustang also. The detail work on this is outstanding.

Another down side of owning an electric only car became apparent to me just last week. Locally we had some winter weather, 2 to 4 inches and it was very heavy wet type snow. IN the KC Metro area and much of the surrounding parts of the city has a lot of beautiful trees and almost all of the power lines are run through it all with very few lines underground. The tree limbs often bend down under the weight of the snow and takeout the powerlines. Large portions of the city was without power for 2 or 3 days and many for a longer time still. I had to make several trips "into town" at this time and I don't recall seeing many electric cars running around. Single digit temperatures after the storm and no way to charge your car even if the batteries would operate at the low temps leaves a lot of people unable to get to work or the store to buy anything.

I really like this, especially the Hel Cat Engine. Looks about ready for "Under Glass".

Retro-Future Weirdness

I think I would want a larger fender between me and the tire. -
Right up front let me say that I have no particular interest in battery operated vehicles. I concede they may have a place in the overall picture, just not mine. My personal sticking point with such vehicles has to do with the source of power to recharge the batteries. Should the energy be generated from a Solar, Wind, Hydroelectric source then the major thing I would worry about is that a reasonable Road Tax be collected to pay for upkeep of the roadways. Government financial support should not be part of the deal. My feeling is that if Fossil Fuels are used to generate the electric power to recharge the batteries you're defeating the whole purpose of an Electric Car. This would still create air pollution and that is supposed to be the reason for an electric car.

Another remedy is Balm of Gilead herbal salve.

What did you see on the road today?
espo replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thank you for the pictures. I live in an area of the US that is often called "The Rust Belt" because of the chemicals used to treat the roads during the winter. Only get to see really nice old cars mainly during the summer months at Cruse Nights. The '58 Chevy Sedan Delivery got my eye as they are unusual even here. The Cadillac Hearse looks interesting. There appears to be a Parking Ticket on the windshield and an adult beverage can on the front fender. -
Thanks for the heads up on the chassis/body assembly since I would have probably built it much as you did. I have always liked the 1:1 Camaro's and this body style only after the '69 models.

Thank you for sharing your photos. Always interesting to see what others are doing. A lot of great looking builds here. -
I remember you posting pictures of this when you were developing the prototype. Turned out perfect. Now about those Chevy wagons you were working on, any updates ?

Amazing what a good detailing and paint can do for a Promo. I don't know if that is a factory color, if not it should have been. Great looking interior.
-
Man that is really nice. I like just looking at all the little details you did.

The paint and trim turned out very nice.

Sometimes cars can get so ugly they start to look cool. Case in point.

1968 Chevy Corvette 427 L/88 Convertible resto Update! 2/2/19

Outstanding engine detailing here. The brackets and the carb. linkage and return spring really ad to the depth. -
Gotta love dogs.

Beautiful looking build. Modelhaus sure had some nice wagon models to work with. The body color is very timely and the wood grain looks perfect.
-
I like the color and the added details on the engine. Was this a Die Cast or Plastic ?
-
I like the concept. I have seen where a lot of people have taken a Wagon and made it into a make believe SS. I like the stance and the bare painted wheels. The White Walls are the same style asa what you would have found on a new '66 Chevelle. I think it looks great.

"One man's junk is another man's treasure."

The headline reads that they are worth a fortune and that maybe true once restored. The problem is it would cost two fortunes to make these cars worth one fortune. Still interesting to see.
