damodelguy az Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 53 studebaker double wammy kit with magnum wagon rear portion, thanx for lookin
blunc Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 that's a great looking conversion. I think extending the "cove" past the back of the door and closer to the rear wheel opening might reduce the "heavy" look of the back half of the wagon that the new roof line is creating. (just a thought)
rickcaps55 Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Wow !! that's going to be awesome I have always loved the 53 Stude that car was 20 years a head of it's time with looks and drive by using the modern roof it blends right in love it.
ewetwo Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 This is wonderful. Looking forward to seeing the end result.
Tom Louis Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 I like it, looks like it could be made and sold today!

(just a thought) That sounds like a good idea. I'd also move the B-pillars up to the door line, or pretty close to it.
Richard Bartrop Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Nice! Looks better than the stock '53 wagon.
89AKurt Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Looks like the factory designed it. I like your 300 wagon in the background too.
damodelguy az Posted October 24, 2018 Author Posted October 24, 2018 this shot with glass in place gives more of a look to the side glass, has hardtop look at the door jam. its coolm it was grayed in the kit. the chassie and interior are from the magnum kit. lot of slice and dice, and grind. narrowed and shortened chassie, same with interior. but did put stude dash back in it. getting there, slooowly. thanx for coments guys
TarheelRick Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Very creative concept. I have one of these complete roofs in the parts box, and your build is giving me some ideas of how to use it. Looking forward to updates.
Lowlife ! ! Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Very clever, the roof looks a very good fit ! Look forward to seeing this complete, then you can start your magnum, with a stude roof grafted on ! !
mikemopar70 Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Wow! That Magnum top melt into the Stude body like it was meant to be!! Nice work!
mustang1989 Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 This..............is a great idea!! I really like how it looks. Nice n' sleek.
GerN Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Excellent work! This type of custom often suffers from the "tail droop" look, but this one is solid. Also good that you resisted putting oversized wheels and tires on it, instead going with realistic rubber. Could pass for stock.
bisc63 Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 Pretty cool ideas here, and nicely executed as well! Doesn't that Stude body just beg for customization?! SUCH a cool style for its time; quite forward-looking. Keep it up!
64SS350 Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Just found your build, looks amazing! Might have to attempt that someday, after my hundred or so other ideas. Love the look! Looking forward to the rest, keep it going!!
