Can-Con Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 (edited) Finally got this thing finished. It fought me at every turn for the last few weeks. Not my cleanest build but it's not too bad I guess considering what I was trying to do. I really didn't think I was going to like the front end but it kinda came together after the grille and lights were installed. Also. this is the Revell kit with the custom front and rear pan and tail light bezels from the AMT '65 Impala annual kit. The intake and valve covers are from the AMT '70 Impala. Anyway,, the pics,,,, Edited December 5, 2021 by Can-Con 2 1
Bills72sj Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 That turned out pretty cool. The clear hood is a nice touch. The nose has a little Corvair look mixed in with some 67-68 Firebird. Was the injection intake part of the kit?
Painted Black Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 That is a beauty, love the fade paint. The wipers are a bit of a distraction.
rickcaps55 Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 WOW ! I watched this from the start you had a mess to work with but it was worth it it is awesome the color the wheels the motor nice .!!!
Snake45 Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 Absolutely fabulous! I just KNEW you were the right guy to send those custom parts to, that you'd use 'em and do 'em justice and you DID! VERY well done mah brothah and model on!
Zippi Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 WOWSER.....that is pretty kewl. The front end looks nice. To me I can see a hint of a Corvair or a shark. It's just me. Either ways it's pretty kewl. Really nice looking paint and I love the detail in the business end.
fordf-100 Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 Really sharp! I like that you have both hoods and the wind she tint looks perfect!
crazyjim Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 Fantastic looking build with beautiful paint.
cobraman Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 You did a great job on that model, it looks fantastic !
misterNNL Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Wonderful custom with reasonable styling and great proportions.
happy grumpy Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 You have a talent for styling, this could very be a concept car that GM designers could have come up with in the 60's. I also love the color and the shading. Elegant and balanced. Simply beautiful.
doggie427 Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Outstanding build Steve! Very tastefully done, one of the finest examples of integrating the styline parts and making them look natural. Well done.
Claude Thibodeau Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Hi Steve! Great results, bravo! One has to think this is what the GM designers would have drawn, if the corporate bean counters would had let them... CT
chris chabre Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 KILLER!!!!! IM gonna need to find the custom parts
Kah puts Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Give yourself a pat on the shoulder, you deserve it. We don't see many full Customs nowadays and yours flows so well, with color and styling and impeccable build quality. Congratulations.
alan barton Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 What a beautifully balanced model! Not a jarring line to be seen. And I like the clear hood - it takes it from Winfield Custom to Corporate concept car/ motor show exhibit in one fell swoop! Cheers Alan
tbill Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 That is drop dead gorgeous! Fabulous build, and that clear hood is just too cool.
Spottedlaurel Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 That's come together really well. The front end looks great, I can think of several 1:1 cars that had a similar look.
Spex84 Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Turned out very well! The paint work is spectacular. I love seeing tasteful builds using the radical custom options of the 60s....that clear hood is actually pretty sweet too!
Can-Con Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 Thanks again guys. This thing fought me almost all the way to the finish so it's nice to get so many great comments on it. ?
espo Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Great looking Kustom body work and the paint treatment especially.
