  1. You might be disappointed. I've sold a few builtups for what I thought was good return given what I paid and what condition they were in. The value is directly related to how much an unbuilt kit is worth. I think it's the best of both in that you are not really devaluing an unbuilt kit and not worrying about lowering the value by building it. I find these older kits are usually pretty basic but the bodies end to be pretty accurate are lacking with respect chassis and engine realism. Assuming the old molds are gone forever the supply will always be low so until the demand drops these collector prices will continue high. In fifteen years it may be a different story with collections being sold more frequently.
  2. It is a neat kit and you can still find them once in a while for $40 and even less for the Testors ones.
  3. The metallic green isn't very dark but the British green is much darker.
  4. The guages look great. I have used them also but you need a good pair of scissors to cut them out.
  5. Welcome back. Very nice and great job of the conversion to RHD. If you don't mind please post pictures of the Mustang.
  6. I recognize at least three Halmark Mustangs in the front. I have the Batmobile that plays the tv show theme.
  7. I get that there are up front costs and I'm not sure if other decals have been released by V-R-M but this set only had a minor mixup from what I've heard but that was a long time ago so it's just a bit frustrating. I also get that the copy cats take away business but at least people on this board are a tad smarter and can tell originals from the shady sellers on Ebay. BTW - thank you for what you do without any fanfare and positive feedback ratings. The best things are not always the easiest to find but I think everyone on the board is glad you make great products.
  8. Wow. I asssume this only happens to some cars that maybe had a bad batch of metal or bad paint prep. At least I hope so given the number of 1/18 and 1/24 diecast I have in my collection.
  9. Cool idea. AMT recognized the old down seat so they had that option in the older 68 Shelby and later 67 Shelby kits.
  10. They have been listed on the website for what seems like four years as coming soon. I'm pretty sure I can say we will not see them this decade but as for the next one I am not very hopefully either. Does anyone know when we might be able to buy them?
  11. Here is the same car back in September in Fredericksburg VA. Note the lack of any real enclosure to keep people away. I bet a lot of wives of Mustang enthusiasts that visited the free show (for spectators) looked at heir husbands like they were insane when they heard it was worth more than about forty of the best restored and most desreable rare Mustangs in the show. ?. I know it's a sexist comment but I did not know how else to get the point across.
  12. Here's the Testors kit in yellow (box stock) next to the same kit I converted to a 73 Japanese police car earlier this year.
  13. That was until he realized he would become an instant millionaire. ? I have seen the car a few times. If it was not used in the movie it would be worth about $20K.
  14. Very nice work. The wood grain looks very realistic and you might be on to something with the guages.
  15. I guess we will have to wait and see.
  16. Anyone have any idea if the Miles figure in the 427 Cobra kit would fit in the Fujumi Mark II? He would be facing towards the passenger seat.
  17. Glad to hear he is on the road to recovery. I had a order pending and was issued a refund. I would place an order again once he is back in business but he has more important things on his mind so waiting six more months would not be any big deal in the grand scheme of things.
  18. Great idea Gary. I have he decals for the Fujumi kit but this would be a quick "build" to recreat the Mark II that is in the Simeone museum.
  19. In case anyone has missed the many pictures of the inspiration for the model.
  20. Good eye on the models. I did not catch that.
  21. I think you nailed it, especially the color. Great job.
  22. What Gramps said. Yes it's an old Mini Exotics resin body from the 1990s by Gerry Chevalier.
  23. Found these old pictures of Morton and Brock.

Very nice builds and always a popular choice.. Does anyone know what type of car I'm standing next to? An old Rolls or Bentley maybe.
  25. They did one in red too.
