  1. Calling this one done. It was a fun build.
  2. Nope. We are not worthy. A++++++++++++++ One question - is the Shelby manufacturer VIN plate a Keith Marks decal or did you make them?
  3. Pictures can be deceiving.
  4. Yes back in the day the model companies recognized not every kit had to be an exact replica. Less licensing fees to pay and they could sell multiple versions but just changing box art and maybe the decals. Build what makes you happy.
  5. Check them out. No excuse now.
  6. I always like the choice of colors you use - you're not limited to factory stock colors (only four for that year Boss). So in that vein I have mentioned on some other Mustangs I see how it is pretty common to see the rear spoiler mounted the opposite of how Mr. Shinoda had intended. The flat side was in the front and the tapered side at the back. In other words, just flip it around (if you care about such details) or just go with how I've seen them mounted sometimes on real cars because an owner assumed that is how it came from the factory.
  7. Looking good and will be watching.
  8. Very nice detailing. I feel your pain on the decals. These kits should have come with two sets. When I build a white car with lots of graphics I usually cut out each large number or letter and apply them after trimming each one as close as possible. Here's some I built in the 1990's.
  9. The more I build the more I am leaning towards primer projects and restoration specials. NIce work for a first time. As long as it does not look shiny you are good to go. A rust bucket modern muscle car would look out of place but this project is perfect. Those wheels might look a little too clean - oops - I sprayed some "dirt" from far away for just the right amount.
  10. I have quite a few diecast Gulf cars also but here are three I built two of which were resin kits.
  11. Nice to see a 1/43 kit once in a while. Not sure when I built these - probably 10-25 years ago. There were many version but the best ones had the chrome parts. For some reason these are not cheap on Ebay compared to the 289 Cobra kit which is a lot better kit.
  12. thanks. Just added air cleaner decal and metal Mustang scripts.
  13. Thanks. It was a fun fairly quick build that has some paint flaws but since it's a old cop car it should not look like a new car. I made the gold grille emblem from the front part of an alternator.
  14. This one is almost done. I need the gumball light, hood twist lock declas and to add some Mustang scripts. I used engine parts from the kit along with some non Boss 429 parts to make it resemble the real car that used for police duty in Japan. I may some police equipment to the interior too. The graphics are hand painted.
  15. Very nice. Those decals look much better than the very yellow kit ones. I've built the Foldger's one and I remember it fit together pretty well.
  16. Technically not a Mach1 but here is a teaser of on almost done. The other one I am hoping to finish is painted and here is the front and back. The Cobra II will be next for the Iacocca build.
  17. Yes - one would have to build one a week for ten years. While that's possible I suppose, it's not too realistic. I only started collecting four types of specific cars (Mustangs, ForD GT's, Pantera's and Cobras) but over the years it's grown to 400 or so with only 1/4 of that built which for my age (60) maybe that's not so bad. I'm one of the few that see the name Modehaus and shrugs as they neve sold anything that I collected. I know, weird but to each his own. As for resin and more expensive kits, I tend to built them before the rull of the mill stuff to justify the expense versus having a lot of money laying around in the form of unbuilt kits.
  18. I would agree as well. I think they differently look different depending on the color.
  19. Oh yeah.
  20. I think technically that was the 65 only wheel made by Cragar and the ten spokes were an option for 66 along with the Hertz Magnum 500's. I don't think you will get dinged by anyone for doing a wheel swap.
  21. Either the Monogram or Fred Cady ones should work.
  22. Did someone say Thunder Valley? Nice job Gramps. I added some Fujumi and HRM parts and junked the TV kit engine.
  23. Nice to see some models with some road wear and not always shiny ann new. Nice save.
  24. Buried under all those "snakes" it is hard to tell.
  25. It's been a year since anyone posted on this thread. Did anyone build the kits mentioned. I did finish a Testors MKIV a few years ago. The 1/43 diecast is made by IXO. I should have paid close attention to where the side marker lights were. They need to be repositioned so they do not interfere with the gum balls.
