Great Idea, David. I have a couple of spare dashes that can supply the pedals.

Future Possible Moebius Semi Trailer Kit?
stavanzer replied to chuckyr's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Looks just like the ones sitting in my yard at work. I'll need one of these for sure. -
Is that enamel Air Brushed or Spray Can? The Enamel really looks sharp. P.S. White Stripes if you decide to use them. I'd go with no stripes if it were mine.

Man, picture is just too far away. You can see the new parts, but not very clearly. Update. Never Mind. I figured it out. It does up size.

Anybody interested in this?

Great Photos, Bill. That Sidewinder is a fantastic period piece. -
You are right, that Flat Earth looks much better. Harmonizes better with the Sand colour. Looks like I'll need to add a Clutch Pedal to mine, and narrow the brake.

Man, another Must Have Kit from Round2. The CHP Push Bar is a great upgrade as well. I could also wish for re-tooled hub caps, but that may be a bridge too far. Either Way, I'm happy.

All of you guys in SoCal, stay Alert, and stay Safe. Evacuate when the tell you to. Don't wait around. This Fire looks to be growing and changing fast. Could be very bad before it is over. NorCal, I hope the power is coming back on for you. PG&E, has been real quiet this morning, so I'm not hearing much about how the Power Re-Energizing is going. I hope there are no losses other than food in the freezer. Alan

Sorry, Gary, I get no pics either. -
Any hope of getting a longbed stepside bed, eventually? I need one for a '61 Chevy.

Now get a sheet of glass cut to fit the top. Or, another way of protecting it, use Masonite, or Sheet Steel.

Walt, Dave Van can answer your last question better than I, but everything Dave, Tim Boyd, Mark B. and others have said indicate that while the Companies seldom (if ever) comment, they are aware of and sometime read directly comments, on these modeling forums. But all Model Companies are 'Market Driven' and "Model Forum Commenters", do not represent much of the market sadly. So, While they may be aware of us(collectively) we don't pack much influence. So What to do? I'd recommend just saving up and buying an original kit. Glue-bombs can be had at less than nose-bleed prices, and you can save up all year and by a mint(ish) kit for X-mas. I have now done that for a couple of kits, and will be starting a Fund for my Monogram Landrover next year. $20.00 bucks a month, and I'll have the $80.00 to $100.00 for the kit by Thanks Giving. A worthy goal.

Very Smooooth Custom. The Colour is perfect, and the mods are flawless. What a sharp car.

It has an engine. Looks like a 6 cyl? Two Spare Rims, 3 sets of rear view mirrors! Lots of seats. It looks even better now!
-
I have one on my bench now. The frame has come out square, so I good so far. What other issues did you face? Your's certainly belies all the trouble it gave you. Sharp Build.

A sort of Mini review of the Two Chevy Kits I was finally able to lay my hands on the '65 Chevell & '66 Impala Mod Stock Kits. What follows are my impressions of Both Kits. '66 Impala. Nice Body. Tiny Chrome Tree. No chrome wheels like some of the others have, just the 6 Lug, reinforced Deep Steel Rims that are some of these kits. 454 Big Block with stock or custom valve covers carried over from the original kit. Unlike some other kits in this series, there is nothing left from the original kit, other than those covers. No stray pieces that were left on the trees. Everything in this box will be on the car, when you complete the build. It has the cowl intake, NASCAR/Z-11 style Air Cleaner. Decent Roll Cage. Decent Seat. Overall a workman like kit, like almost all the others in this series. '65 Chevell. Again, Nice Body. Has a hole in the hood for the Scoop. Scoop is in the kit. Looks very much like the scoop in the AMT '64 Impala kit. This kit reminds me a whole lot of the '69 Falcon Kit. The Roll Cages are almost twins, the chassis have a similar 'skeletal' look, and the interiors have much in common. These two kits have almost nothing in common with the others, from a design stand-point, that I can see. They both share the same open element "FLY-EYE" air cleaner too. Also powered with a 454 Big Block, this engine just looks softer and 'blobbier' than the one the '66. Not sure why. This kit also has very nice 4-window mags. Not Chromed. The wheel mounting system is also Identical to the Falcon, sharing the same three part, Finned Brake Drums and deep wheel backs. Like the other Chevy, this also suffers from "Tiny Chrome" Syndrome, and a lack of Extra parts. Again, everything in the box, will wind up being used on the finished model. I've never seen the original '65 kit, that this version was based on. I've seen the directions for many of the others kits that were converted, and have a bit of a feel, for what was lost, when the were modified into these kits. These two Chevies & the Falcon, are the most 'stripped down' of all the kits I've seen in this series. I know that some folks would very much like to see some of these kits restored back to the 1960's original configurations. Based on Box contents alone, these three, are completely lost causes. It would be cheaper to start fresh than to try to resurrect these kits, IMHO. The '64 Galaxie on the other hand has an almost complete Chrome Tree, and many parts that might allow it to be brought back to life. In general, the GM kits are lost, but some of the Fords might be salvaged. I now own all of this series but the GTO, and with the price of them, I'll probably never have one. But based on the others, it is most likely the same as the Buick and Olds kits. Lastly, Round2, Please, Please, put One Piece Tires in the New Re-boxing of the Chevell??? Those Two Piece steamroller tires are the biggest PITA of these kits.

Stop given' me Ideas, Randy!! Do I paint it Grey or Pink..........? 454? or Small Block? Blown or Injected? Hypersonic Heffalump, Supersonic Elephant, Bronx Bomber, Passionate Pachyderm..........? So Many questions!
-
Yeah. Makes me want to dig out my kit, and build one. I DO have at least one copy of that kit. I was gonna build it as a Patrol Car of somekind, but a Gasser sounds much more fun. Now, Where can I find some "Supersonic Elephant" decals?

Moebius has made a point of the fact that they are still "In the Game" as it were, and will eventually be releasing more Automotive Subjects. Maybe not as soon as we Enthusiasts want them, but the plans are still going forward. Those Nova's you show, are rumored to still be in work, possibly held up by Lic Agreement issues. I have hope that the immense interest that the Sneak Peek Pics generated will keep them in the development pipeline. While not new kits exactly, Atlantis Models has a huge pile of Old Revell, Aurora, and other tooling to go thru. You can be sure that the folks running Atlantis are VERY aware that they have some Diamonds in that toolbank. Again, it may be some time, but we will see them in good time. As noted, Revell has brought out an all new Landrover LWB kit, that is a completely "Clean Sheet of Paper" kit. They have continued to develop one or two new Automotive Kits every year. Most are European, and not US Muscle, but they are still new kits. Italeri, keeps re-issuing old tools, but they are going way back into the archives for some of these. Kits that haven't seen the light of day in 20-30 years, are effectively new kits, for anybody who is new to modeling. Heller seems to be coming back to Life, Ebbro, Beemax, NuNu, and others from the Far East are cranking out new cars every year. Am I getting the 1950 Buick Roadmaster Jetback that I crave? No. Never gonna happen, I'm afraid. The same with the 1912 Mercer Raceabout. But, New Car kits are plentiful. Just totally different than what they used to be. This is yet more of the Golden Age of the Hobby.
