  1. Awesome job the 68 was the best looking in the 442 line up to me. boy I had two of them from Johan when I was a kid I wish I would have kept them I remember I payed $1.50 each at a local hobby shop.!!
  2. As far as I know no one has ever made this car in a model plastic or resin and it's the one car that I would have loved to see in kit from it would be nice to see it done but I don't think there is enough people around that like the car or even remember it to off set the coast of doing one.!! it's to bad i'm 68 I had a friend that bought one used in 70 it was the top of the line model in gold and black it was a great car he has pass away now I would have loved to build one for him.!! I still would like to build one.
  3. LOL now that someone brought it up I think your right I think I will finely get to a hole lot of projects that have been sitting on the bench for over two years .!!!
  4. Nice that really does look good that would have made a nice option for that year .!!
  5. Awesome job I love how it looks in the dark gray nice. !!
  6. Awesome build the color is right on the money GM should have done this with the 2 door models back in the day to tell the truth I hate 4 door cars up to 2005 I never owned one they were called grandpa cars when I was growing up.!!! growing up I had a 68 Cad 2 door for two years I got used it was 5 years old at the time I loved it it was all black one Chicago winter it was parked out in front of a bar I use to go to and it was hit by a Chicago snow plow totaled it it took almost a year to settle it.!
  7. What a awesome build I can't wait to see this one done that color looks great on that car the 68 442 was one of the ones on my top 10 list there was something about it that just always looked great back in 68 when JoHan came out with the kit I had two of them one I did stock the other was set up for the drag strip God I wish I would have kept them I started to build model car in 1962 when I was 10 and built them till the mid 70's then got ride of every thing and got back into it in the late 90's and had to start all over again finding a lot of the early 60's and 70's kits they sure not $2.00 any more.! I have payed up to $175.00 for some. in 62 my first kit was the AMT 62 Ford it was $1.50 the can of spray paint was 49c the 4 little bottles of paint for the detail were 10c each and the tube of glue was 10c the hole thing coast me $2.50.
  8. WoW.!! that is awesome very nice I love the color and the wire wheel covers. I have that resin kit I got it from Ed Flock Jr about 12 years ago it's been in the to do pile I guess I will have to get it out your build has giving me new hope for the kit.!!! again you did an awesome job on it.!!
  9. Your right on the trim that bottom trim was on the sport and deluxe models and all the SS models did not have that trim they did have the wheel lip trim but that was it on the model that is left over from the 68 mold AMT never took it out when they changed it over for the 69.
  10. Send him an email I have ordered many many kits over the last 15 years from him and I have never had them take more than 4 weeks most times I had it with 2 weeks it may have been lost.
  11. I love the idea that they are coming out with the 69 it will have the detail that the AMT did not have and it was in the cards when they did the very long awaited 68 they made the removeable rear end caps I knew the 69 was not to far behind and I will get a couple of theses kits but I hope they do not stop making the 68 we in the model building world waited way to long for that to come back to the bench I got 4 of these kits looks like I will have to pick up a couple more just incase.!!! and as for the 68 I am hopping so good resin guy will come up with a 68 300 hard top trans body with a bench seat for that kit hint hint.!!!!
  12. Ho yes Wendell I know of him very well I was one that ripped off for over $150.00 bucks I was buying a lot of thing from them ok thanks.!!!
  13. I have that resin kit but I got mine from Perry Resin 18 years ago it's the same kit only in the darker tan resin and I only payed $35.00 for it and it used the 69 AMT Chevelle kit as the doner to finish it I just got it out of my stash to build it. Do you have any idea who the resin guy is that made that one I would like to get one more.
  14. Hi I got this trans kit from Keven and what I did with the grill was to leave the ring alone I did not want to mess with it it looked great I made a back piece with the center bar the 71 the grill is a deep look so it worked out nice as soon as I am done I will try to post some phots but all and all it looks great and it was easy to work with.
  15. They were also in one of the 64 Falcon kits from Trumpeter I have the kit and it's a great kit but to this day I can not understand why they put the 60/61 dog dish caps in it for me it worked out I used them on a resin 60 Falcon.
  16. That is awesome I love it in the gray that should have been a factory color very nice.!!!
  17. Hi you say you use it in your air brush how does it work ? I got a refill but never thought about using it as a spray can you coat a part with out using the gloss black under it when you spray it. that is one of the big things I like about it you can go over almost anything with out under coat I have used the pen on raw resin and it came out perfect.
  18. That's looking great but do your self a favor and make it easy on your self I have stopped using the BMF on all the thin and small areas get the Molotow liquid chrome pens they come in 1mm 2mm 4mm they look like you used BMF and in one swipe your done I am 67 and my hands don't work like they use to cutting the BMF is hard but with the pens it's so easy and there great for small parts to and there is no under coating needed they go over anything. you can get them on amazon or just about any were.!
  19. WOW ! you did a awesome job on that build. I have this kit in my stash it has been setting there for 30 years untouched I just never got around to it I love it now seeing this I will have to get started on it I have the full detail kit from JoHan like yours with the opening doors and trunk in the flat box.
