  1. I’m sure you’ll get her looking great Tom. Looks like a fun project, that’s what it’s all about...having fun.?
  2. Nice job on the weathered paint. ?
  3. Well done, but you forgot to smash the front bumper in like the photo.?
  4. Well done. Nice tribute to the cover car.?
  5. Very nicely done Alex. The stance is perfect and that blue is beautiful. ?
  6. She is a beauty! My favourite Mustang body style!?
  7. Congrats! That’s an average of 4.21 posts per day....where do you find the time to build models??
  8. Oops! I didn’t realize that the Tamiya kit is a YJ, which was the last of the Jeeps to use leaf springs.? So the previous answers are valid possibilities. If you do need to build new leafs for it...here is a thread on how to do that.
  9. I totally agree!
  10. The wrangler should be a coil spring setup, not leaf springs. You would need to source or make some longer springs and likely lengthen all the control arms. Check out my tjeepster build thread. I custom built a long arm coil spring setup on that one. I am not familiar with the Tamiya kit so you may get away with spacers if you only need a tiny lift? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/150899-tjeepster/page/3/
  11. Very nicely done. I agree, this is a very nice kit and fun to build.?
  12. Nice clean builds on both of those.?
  13. What is your work space like? Are you looking for an auxiliary lamp sort of idea, or something more permanent? I rigged up two double 2’ led fixtures about my bench.
  14. Gotta check the fit on everything with this one! In my last pic the fenders are not pushed out against the frame rails. Even with them pushed out, the headers touch...and I can’t get them pushed out enough to get the grill shell to sit down between them. I believe I will have to trim the fenders or shell??
  15. The bell housing is pretty much touching the tunnel, but that could be filed out a bit. The headers will fit. It is really tight, but it is doable.
  16. That is exactly what I was planning on doing. I already figured that I wouldn’t be able to use the hood sides. I just went and checked now and the valve covers actually touch the fenders and the headers will likely interfere more.?
  17. Thanks Alan. My skills are nowhere near the upper levels displayed by some of the folks on this forum. I am however having fun trying to improve them a bit with each build. And I like to pass along any tricks or ideas I stumble upon along the way. Yes, it is going to be Tamiya TS-11 maroon, which is fairly close to what my 1:1 is. Thanks John.
  18. There are three different interpretations of what “rubber gaskets” the OP was enquiring about. I assumed he wanted to fabricate the gaskets. Painting the existing molded in gaskets is another, and painting the frit (I had to look up the name) is another. Everyone has provided good solutions for all three scenarios.
  19. Cool looking little roadster. Dang that rust looks real.?
  20. Not at all, that’s why I posted it in this section. Now if you took it from my build thread....?
  21. Congratulations! I’m glad the business was good to you. Sorry I never got the opportunity to deal with you. Enjoy your retirement!?

Well done!? That is one of the best weathering jobs I’ve seen....now sent it to me so I can restore it.?
  23. Yes. Evergreen and Plastruct have it in different sizes. If I recall, I cold bent it around the drill bit while holding it flat to the board with the tweezers. Then warmed it slightly with the lighter to “set” the bend.
