  1. So sorry to hear that Steve!... She was a beautiful cat ... šŸ’—
  2. Abs, I think you must be a true model building madman, as itā€™s hard to keep up with all the stuff you do, and Iā€™m amazed with how much you know about obscure kits and such. This is a really cool car and it surprises me how thick the resin is on many of these resin kits. I guess I lucked out by having my first one being an HRM.... Also, in looking at this body style I have to wonder if it was the inspiration for the AC Ace which morphed into the Cobra.
  3. Pony express never had these problems... maybe we just need to go back to simpler times... Yep, Iā€™m all for it!
  4. Thanks Mark... Hopefully the hood alignment wonā€™t fight me too awful hard. Thanks Jason... This has been the most challenging, patience requiring modeling project Iā€™ve ever gotten into so far. Very different from what Iā€™m used to. Doing a WIP online has been an experience in itself. ...I just went onto modelbuilderswh.com and checked out the Ferrari P4 engine kit you mentioned and it is very impressive. I think I counted 49 parts, wow! Take your time savoring every morsel of that onešŸ‘
  5. Hello Mario!..... While reading your post, I felt that I too have been through those dark times you mentioned. Although I never had the numbers of models you had, I also built everything from tanks, infantry, planes to cars, but nothing sci-fi. All of what I used to have, like yours, got trashed or given away. I went on a dry spell for 10 years and began building again just before Covid came along. I decided that all my builds from here on out are going to represent the best of my abilities, so I donā€™t care about how many I can build, but rather, how satisfied I will be with each one years down the road. Its good that you have made it back and from the sounds of it are staying busy in the hobby. Iā€™m sure youā€™ve learned much being a lurker here for the past 6 years.... I know I have, and Iā€™m just now hitting my first year here. There really is some exceptional talent and skill here as well as an abundance of knowledge. Welcome aboard!šŸ¤ šŸ‘
  6. Iā€™m sorry to hear this..... I didnā€™t know the guy, but I remember seeing his screen name here and there. Losing a friend of any kind is difficult.
  7. Len, the hood is not yet attached to the front chassis brace.... I can tell that getting a good fit once attached to the brace is going to take absolute precision.... I simply sat the hood on and propped it up with a clothespin for the photos. We will see how it goes once I get the new chassis brace. ........ Thanks Ray and Abs.... Still a lot to do.
  8. Just a quick little sneak peak of the car with the hood on..... The hoodā€™s not properly attached yet.
  9. Cool, cool, cool..... Love the truck-n-trailer combo!.... Great stuff GrampsšŸ‘
  10. Wow!... Now thatā€™s a slosher!.... Thing of beauty though.
  11. Rex, I will be taking it offline after the next post or two so that I can focus on all the many little details. Since I was doing this WIP as an aid to those who wish to build it, most of the tricky things are now finished, except the hood, which I may only partially show in the WIP. Most everything thatā€™s left, as far as kit parts are concerned, are pretty easy to figure out from here on out, but a couple more posts may be needed. Most further additions to the kit, if one desired to, would have to be scratch built and I do not wish to bore everyone with all the fussy little details, including decals that I plan to add. After I get everything done I will still need time to get photos completed for the ā€œUnder Glassā€ section, so donā€™t be expecting finished pics anytime soon.
  12. Having some trouble getting the hood installed properly. The front chassis brace (part 6D) which I already had glued in place snapped when I tried to remove it. The part has to be flawlessly positioned and cemented in order to have any hope of the hood opening and closing with accuracy since itā€™s what the hood hinge brackets ride on. Since the part is broken and unusable, I have ordered a replacement part.... Iā€™m hoping to only have to post one or two more segments before calling this WIP done.... Meanwhile hereā€™s what Iā€™ve got for you all.... Thanks for your interests throughoutšŸ¤
  13. Thanks Bruce... I guess it boils down to a sense of nostalgia for many of us, and when it comes to the need of building detailed miniature things... well, there are other things available now besides cars just as you had mentioned. ......Which gets me wondering... when weā€™re all dead and gone and these younger ones come across our model cars, will they find them fascinating and cherish them, or simply throw them in the trash?
  14. Hey Ryan, I already posted my acclaim for your great build here, but didnā€™t realize how new you were to the hobby which makes it all the more impressive. Bravo! ....And welcome to the forumšŸ¤ ....will be looking forward to more of your workšŸ‘
  15. Wow Mike, thatā€™s a great one! That shade of red and the smoothness of the paint looks really nice. The engine detail is fabulous! And I love that you did your chrome work with candy bar wrappers... very resourceful... and it looks good! It even appears you did the steering wheel that way too. Just shows that we donā€™t always have to be dependent on companies who produce modeling foil. Excellent build!šŸ¤ šŸ‘
  16. .....Yeah, like this complete moron.... Dont worry, itā€™s not very graphic at all, but the stupidity is beyond comprehension.
  17. Nice fabrications Bill .... It came out very well, and thatā€™s a good looking color.
