Cool great builds and I love the varied subjects. Really like the blue 242 and the RX3 = because the Mazda was my first "real" car when I was a youngun.

Aaron, welcome to the forum and thank you for showing us your awesome builds! These look fantastic. And I too would sure like to know if the 917 is a Heller....I have that kit and darn near threw it in the bin! Looks great!

Kurt. Let us know the real build time. I want to do a quickie but can’t get myself to focus and blast one out. I really like this idea.

Lost a good friend early this morning.

Darn it. Sorry for your loss Johnny. Police officers in the line of duty - people don't understand the risks these brave people take everyday. Have strength and comfort from your circle of friends. -
Great inputs Paul! Will do. We got a bit further to the point I mocked up the paint booth operation and blew on some flat black for my VW Beetle parts. I wanted to test the air extraction system. Glad I did because I had an obstruction with the vent flap on the outside so I discarded it. I added a very lightweight flap in the 4” pipe by the window and that will keep cold air out (kinda) when not in use. I noticed one of the two fans starting to slow down and then even run BACKWARDS after 20 seconds or so. But now it works great. I sprayed the black, left the building and went back in a minute or so later and the smell was very negligible! I am adding an air intake vent above the door so that when fully completed I will get good airflow through the room. I plan to paint a few models first and then finish the drywall and paint the inside. Here are a few details so far…. the insulated exit through the lifted window and the white air flap The booth setup in the room. And the exterior with one final drywall piece yet to be installed. I can attest that the insulation works very well! Going to shorten the duct leading out the window.

Man! That is a sweet ride! I love the look of this without any side chrome! Such a mild custom I could see this easily tooling around LA back in the day. The chicks would be all around you with this car! Sweet!

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
steveracer replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Cobraman, YES do it! That would be a blast - like a puzzle and where's Waldo combined in one fun session (or multiple sessions unless you are Rembrandt or something). That is really a nice thoughtful gift from your wife.... Where did she get this from? -
love the clean builds especially in the engine compartments! Keep em coming!

All are winners. I would like to fire up that Corvette....

I was able to finish TWO 25+ year old projects this year, and rebuild a 45 year old basket case. It was quite satisfying to complete them with the same vision that was started years ago. I say go for it and complete one old project, then go back to the normally scheduled projects.

Been searching for this kit at a reasonable price for a few years. A builder a few miles away from another forum offered this at a price I couldn’t refuse. This is a builder…..

Love the funny cars...and Wild Willies Wayward Arm!!!!

Michael, great work and thank you for sharing! Love the Nissan notchback and the Supra builds. I had a real Isuzu Impulse (USA) for a few months, that was a real cool car and the design was real forward. Guigaro I believe. Also owned a Nissan 200SX Turbo and a Silvia with an FJ20 - both hatchbacks though...

Here in Michigan we never expect snow any more. So anything is "unexpected" ? Two things. 1. Snow is how I learned to drive. Thousands of miles.... 2. Nowadays, Snow is when I can hunker down and really get into model building all day....

Such a nice looking model.

What are the wheels?

Tom, I too like the 73 up Monte Carlos, the fender and quarter surfacing is so surreal on the real cars it is fun to look at. This may be the cleanest build I have seen as a car "just off the lot" and you did it justice with your details. Thanks for sharing.

I started this kit about 30 years ago. Sat in the box painted metallic black or gray. Finished it finally. Not a motorcycle guy, but I think it looks kind a cool. Tamiya FZR750R OW01. Straight outta the box.

Excellent 2021! Nice variety, you may be an inspiration to others, myself included... What kit is the black F150, is that the Firestone kit? I want that one! Looks great with those wheels....

Scott, you had a real tough year. Sorry to hear about that. Thank you for sharing your Chevy, looks real nice. Now that is a real stock car Best for 2022, be careful of the fumes as you get back into the hobby.

Well Ace, I can't say what I really want to say here, but why don't you..... ???

Oh that 442 pickup truck! ? Man that looks awesome, such a beautiful job on pulling the exterior together to perfection. And that engine. It looks real real! If I could (really hate to) offer one simple suggestion, and it is ONLY because the ONLY giveway that the engine is a scale model, is to run a little panel line between the alternator body and the fan...or use some chalk there. If those parts were two pieces, then you would have had me lock stock and barrel - it is so well executed. Thanks for posting these three (oh, I like the Chevy wagon too, the back end looks nice!

Nice car and nice model! Great job on the build and workmanship. I used to work on these and later year Datsuns as well, so I like to see these models. Thanks for sharing.
