  1. I use Gunze Mr Surfacer, dolloped on with a brush. It dries quickly, then sand. It feathers out beautifully. It works so well that I can relax while scribing. I used to find panel scribing nerve wracking, especially tricky corners, for fear of a slip. Now, knowing I can easily and seamlessly repair any slip, I don’t worry about it. This allows me to scribe with confidence, and being more relaxed I found I made fewer slips. Win win.
  2. Yes, I would think that was a very good buy. I seriously considered making a run at either of those Fords, but decided against it. They were the nicest examples I’ve seen offered.
  3. Very nice conversion. You grafted the elements of the two kits together beautifully. An excellent bit of GT-40 history. The wheels look nice. Do you have a link for them? I googled Passion for Racers, but couldn't find anything relevant.
  4. Nice pair of little MGs.

Nicely done. The rust is very convincing, especially the staining. Very cool.
  6. She’s a beauty. Nicely done.
  7. Oh, very nice. Looking great so far.
  8. I do the same. All my sanding on the body is block sanding. Very effective at panel joints for keeping everything flat and sharp. I use a white vinyl drafting eraser, and have one end trimmed at an angle to get tight into corners. Sometimes I’ll trim an edge to a radius to suit a particular spot.
  9. Wow! Outstanding! That is absolutely beautiful.
  10. Just found this thread. Very nice work. Your mods are looking great. Cool project. Looking at the first photo in this thread, I’m wondering if that big Dodge fit through that little garage door.
  11. My thoughts exactly. Someone else mentioned Monogram kits of the 70s & 80s. If you are frustrated by complexity and small parts, the Monogram muscle car kits of the 80s are an excellent choice. Simple construction and they make great looking models.
  12. Great looking old Ford. Nice work.
  13. Wow! Outstanding build, Mark. Excellent work and great attention to detail. It looks wicked awesome. Love it!
  14. Good looking Europa, Patrick. Nice work piecing the engine together. Very cool.
  15. Nice, clean style. Well done.
  16. I haven't used mine in over a year (just not at that point in my projects), but when I last did the stuff was already at least two years old, and it seemed less eager to do the shiny chrome thing that it does. It had good shine, but it seems I had to lay it on heavier then before. Also, if I squeeze out a drop for my paint brush, it must be used immediately. If I waited a minute, it wouldn't develop a good shine when applied to the part. Could just be my imagination. In a few months I'll be into the stuff again, so it will be interesting to see how it performs. Speaking of 'the chrome thing that it does', has anyone ever applied Molotow and then watched it with high magnification? There is some crazy stuff happening when the stuff is first applied, or first exposed to air. A weird sparkly action and joining of particles to form the 'chrome' effect. Pretty interesting.
  17. Oh man, that sucks. Sorry to see that. I agree with the post above, if you plan to redo the paint, then it’s better to strip rather than sand. Good luck.
  18. Looks great Patrick. It appears you sorted the missing engine quite well. Looks good in white, too. This post makes for two Europas on the forum in as many days. Good stuff.
  19. Very cool Europa. With the exception of the wing, it looks just like a tidy club racer. Europas look great in Gold Leaf livery, and yours is no exception. Well done! I have the same kit on the bench right now. It goes together well, and Tamiya really got much of the subtle details right, though unfortunately, as they often do, Tamiya made the wheels/tires too large. There's not much to be done about it though, as the Europa wheels (the stock road wheels) are unique and the pickings are slim for decent 13" tires in scale. It's a shame, too, because they nailed the rest of it.
  20. Very nice Datsun. Overall appearance is awesome. Love the look. I’m digging those wheels, will have to look onto a set of those. I really admire your ability to mix colour. The green looks great.
  21. Interesting construction techniques for the chassis. I’m picking up ideas. That engine is looking fantastic.
  22. Nice period pavement pounder. You nailed the look. Well done.
  23. Nice old build. The restoration work looks great. Very cool!
