Back in the day, dealers would do many things to get you to buy their trucks, and cars. I would say it is more than likely an option checked when ordered.
Walking around the Detroit AutoRama a few weeks ago I can not answer that anymore. The high dollar cars are all incredibly nice with big claims on horsepower. I am not saying that don't have it but I doubt many will be driven to the point of needing it.
I agree with all of the above statements. Don't forget to get some of the boxes he sells. Most complete cars fit inside and they are great for parts and body shells.
I guess the biggest difference between the two might be the range of distance they can measure. I work with Bow hunters and they don't need the same range as a gun hunter or golfer would need so I can not ask them.
