  1. Cool stuff, as usual from your bench. I'll be following
  2. Not aftermarket, but take a look at AMT's Phantom Vicky from the late 90's. It can be massaged to work with the modern Revell 32 Ford series with a little work as I suspect you're trying to do.. The stance may be a little high out of the box, but can be lowered with a little work, and the parts themselves are pretty nice.
  3. Replicas and Miniatures of Md. cast that grille set. May even still be in the catalog.
  4. Yeah, the issue I was thinking was the custom sedan alone was the 2nd issue of the double kit, the one with no print on the boxtop, just the great picture of the Willys and 32. My bad
  5. I've never seen the custom version molded in white, but I have seen light blue, red and yellow. I think there's only been two releases of the custom Tudor, one as the double kit, and once by itself. So, when it came to plastic color I guess AMT used whatever it felt like on that day BTW, for anyone interested in doing the "Little Deuce Coupe" cover car, there was a pretty decent resin body offered of that car, same caster did a conversion to the A-Bros Adonis 60 Ford. The simulated padding on the roof insert of the Deuce body looked a little thick, but otherwise it seemed like a nice body. Anyone have one to share a pic?
  6. Like Bill said, this has quite a few great parts in it for building a traditional rod, especially the suspension parts, with the very nice dropped I beam front(with split bones), buggy spring rear axle, and 40's Ford backing plates at all 4 corners. These parts can be made to fit the new tool Revell 32 frame with very little effort. And the roadster body itself is quite nice.
  7. Just got my first order from Model Builders Warehouse. Great service, easy to use website, and lightning fast shipping. Plus, Randy is a great guy to deal with. Buy with confidence, and support this endeavor. He opened it just to help us builders gain access to some harder to find stuff. Highly recommended.
  8. Hey Steve, any further progress on this epic build?
  9. You're shocked? I've come to expect some sort of negativity in nearly every thread in this forum. But, that's just something on the internet as a whole, not restricted to this place. Anyway, I'm following along with this excellent build. Looking forward to some color shots.
  10. I use Sharpies a lot on interior details, especially piping on 50's-60's cars. I also use them to detail the molded in wiring in engine compartments, easier than paint.
  11. Just got a catalog a couple months ago and it's in there. As a side note, Altered States offers two different roof sections for the Revell 30 coupe, a more heavily chopped top and a stock height top with corrected stock style roof insert and visor
  12. This pretty cool. Wheel tire combo for the front may be a little big/tall, but the rest really has a great look
  13. Man, that engine looks incredible. This build is sweeeet!
  14. As usual, excellent work Bill. As with all your other builds, I'll be following along.
  15. Sorry Matthijs, can't see your pics. Bob, I'm guessing the one I saw was Choppers since it was at NNL East. it was phenomenal (another reason I haven't dragged it out to finish it because I'll keep comparing it to that build)
  16. I feel lucky to have one as well. When I saw this kit in the RMCM booth almost 20 years ago, the casting was so excellent I though the hood was molded shut, but it is removable. I had to have one and purchased it that day(despite having blown my budget already that day) Juha's design on the master is excellent, and my skills couldn't do justice to the design at the time, so I never finished it. I think I've only seen one finished. it was metallic orange(can't remember the builder) Juha does some phenomenal work, on his factory stock conversions, what-if design studies and customs. But his execution and paintwork(and photography) are also amazing. Looking forward to his endeavors into resin casting.
  17. Even though the Rat Roaster was all new tooling, it was based on the same "architecture" as the 3window, Speedwagon, roadster, Tudor and 5window tooling. Some refinements were made, especially to the frame itself, but parts should swap around between all versions. Looks like they're continuing this practice with the recent Model A series too. Here's to hoping they continue with more body styles in that line once they get the tooling for the 29 roadster and 30 coupe back online. And maybe even continue on with a 33-34 series!
  18. I think if you put the wheel backs on you will find the front end track is better than you think. I'm digging this build, either way you go with it
  19. That came out great. I'll be looking for it on that auction site. Been waiting to build my kit until I got this body
  20. Thanks for the info about the Testors product line in this thread. Glad to see it's not as bad as originally feared
  21. That's a cool concept, and cleanly executed. It can pass for one of those late 50's, early 60's sedan style runabouts. Just maybe add sliding glass on the sides and you're there. You may have to figure out a means of getting in and out, either by leaving the rear glass out and making the opening bigger by carving some of the roof away. Or you can do an opening hatch in the roof.
  22. Peter, thank you so much for taking the time to type up that summary of the Ford GT40 program. It was an interesting read. I recently purchased the Gulf livery Fujimi kit, and have the HRM engine kit and wide wheels/tires on order. I'm hopeful I can make mine look even a fraction as good as yours came out. Just excellent builds all around of this iconic group of vehicles. Thanks again for sharing
  23. Based on your other recent work I know I'll be following along on this one. Plans for running gear yet?
  24. That top looks great. Nice job!
  25. Very cool little build. I would be hard pressed to recognize it as only H/O scale if you hadn't identified it that way.
