  1. While visiting San Antonio today, I stopped at the Hobby Town just to kill time while my wife was at a fabric store. They had issue 205 of MCM!
  2. Looking good! I need to get one of these. I built the Miami Vice boat last year.
  3. I've got plenty of American steel wheels because I made a mold of a set, now I need some late model Euro steel wheels and some Japanese ones!
  4. I built one of these a long time ago. I know the 5.0 from AMT's 1995 Ford F150 or Mustang fits in this without a lot of work!
  5. Really good look. I have these models in my build someday pile, but I could never make them look that good.
  6. Anyone know if they plan to do a stepside version of the '69-'70 F-100? I've been thinking of doing one using the AMT '53 bed, but if they are going to release one, I'll wait.
  7. Rubbin' is racin', but not at the speeds they are going now. NASCAR is flailing now, trying different gimmicks to get back their fans. They could lower the speeds by 30 or 40 MPH so drivers could actually race not just travel i a pack and hope for the best, and do away with the cookie cutter body style, institute a 'race what you make' rule, i.e. an actual stock body put on the current chassis. They have to reestablish a connection with their fanbase and reach new fans. How better to do that than to race cars that really look like a Fusion, Camry or even a Camaro or Mustang ?
  8. If you don't mind die-cast, you can find the Jesse James lowrider 57 Chevy 150 2-door wagon on eBat fairly often. The body is pretty stock. It takes a little kit bashing but looks good.
  9. The Revell 66 Chevelle wagon will need a donor kit such as the Revell 66 El Camino for the stock hood and wheels but it makes a nice model. The Pinto wagon and the Pacer wagon are currently in most hobby shops. Hubley made some early 60s Ford wagons and they show up on eBay pretty often. They are pretty much unassembled promos, but they look nice when put together.
  10. Really good looking!
  11. Tamiya Haze Gray looks pretty close as well.
  12. I received my Cummins in the mail yesterday, (Thanks to Trailer Trash Customs) it looks very nice. I may see if I can make a 4BT out it if it won't fit in the engine bay. I also bought a second Dodge Ramcharger from the HL clearance pile. I have to start looking at combinations. Tomorrow I'll be in San Antonio at the model car show and I'll look for any other kits that might work as well. For some reason my phone isn't letting me email pictures to myself, so I don't have anything to show just yet.
  13. The stock version was in Walmart a few years ago wasn't it? I remember buying a couple of them.
  14. I bought an original unbuilt of this right before they announced the reissue. You may have inspired me to start it! Really nice.
  15. An artisan! Did he start with the Motormax cheap Walmart window van? Truly amazing!!
  16. That looks really good. That finish is really hard to achieve.
  17. Is it a good show? I mostly like to go for the vendors. I'm going to try to go to the ModelFiesta in San Antonio next weekend and I would have to have a good excuse before my wife let me go to that one too! LOL
  18. Sounds like something Galaxy might have thought of a few years ago. They are pretty easy to make in resin or vac-form so I guess there isn't any reason?
  19. It could be good if done in a semi-documentary style sort of like a Tom Hanks WWII movie. I imagine the cars will all be either kit cars or computer generated due to the crazy cost of the real cars now.
  20. I don't think the Edsel and Ford styling was any better or worse than what GM was putting out at the time. One thing that seems to have hurt Ford was quality control. GMs quality was much better then and Ford's wasn't. It was better than Chrysler perhaps, but GM was the best at the time. I read an interview in Hemmings a few years ago with some retired autoworkers. In their efforts to overtake GM, Ford executives and managers churned out product without worrying about quality. Ford and Edsel dealers reported having, in some cases to almost rebuild cars before they could go on the showroom floor.
  21. If I may join late, I'd like to do so. I gave up on trying to convert a Chevy six into a Cummins 6BT and ordered the Cummins from Trailer Trash Customs. I also got the Dodge Ramcharger last night on clearance so I think the two will make a good combo.
  22. The recently re-released AMT 280ZX has an inline 6 as well.
  23. Does anyone know how much work would be needed to make the Ferguson into a Ford?
  24. The day that the Foose Cadillac and 56 Ford truck go on clearance at Hobby Lobby, I'm going to stock up on them to serve as parts donors for chassis and engines.
