Great looking variety of build styles. The Trebuchet is really interesting. Have you ever seen the " Chunkin Pumpkin"? program on the History Channel?

I like how you're doing the side mount spare. I had a 1:1 '56 with this option many years ago. At the time it was not considered to be a desirable option. The attachment to the bed was done with round stock between the side of the bed and a flat plate to which the tire was mounted using three lug nuts. Being a standard model, it may not of even had a hub cap or any other type of dress up. -
Rustoleum 2X spray paints
espo replied to Smoke Wagon's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have used Rust-oleum products around the home for their intended use as well as Krylon paints on endless automotive projects. They both have performed beyond expectations in every case. The few times I have tried them on models I usually wind up with disappointing finishes along with other problems. I'm aware that there are builders here that have had some amazing results as well as many who have bemoaned using them. For myself I always use a paint product designed primarily for model building even though it may cost more initially I have found the added expense well worth it for myself. I think any builder that wants to go with some of the other paint products for whatever the reason should plan on a lot of practice on old spruce from the kit they are building to be sure it will do what they are expecting of it. -
The White top would look good, or maybe a dark Metallic Green color.

Another thought for your Pro Street chassis. There have been a few Pro Street passenger car models offered in the past. The '67 Chevelle is one that comes to mind, b ut I also remember a few MoPar's as well. See if you can find one of those and just "back half" the chassis to your truck's chassis. You may want to use the front suspension as well.

A thought no matter which way you go on the tubs. Some photos I have seen it looks as if Ford had a very narrow flat molding around the wheel tubes. Maybe one way to cover the small gap between the tubs and the bed floor as well as the sides would be to add a very small plastic molding to the body so that when the tubs are installed from below it would cover the small gap. I like how you did the bulkhead below the rear window. -
I would be a buyer if it was based on the later stock SS396 tool. The body proportions and the chunky nature of the chassis details leave me uninterested. That said I'm sure they will sell a ton of them and I'm glad for those who do love this kit will have another chance to build it.

The paint finish looks amazing. I like how clean all of the trim details are done.

Beautiful looking builds. I really liked the way you Kustomized the '57. The Pink components on the Surf themed pickup are a surprising touch. Congratulations on the Touring car and it being pictured in the magazine.

Great looking bed. Are you planning on adding the wheel tubes to the bed floor as well or leave them separate? -
Like you I and many others are experiencing problems with Bare Metal Foil. I saw a suggestion here from another builder on a possible substitute. The foil is designed to be used as a seal for joints on an HVAC system. This isn't the heavier stuff that you may have seen in the past. I picked up a roll from a local ACE hardware store but I'm sure that it could be found anywhere else that would offer such a product. The foil is on a roll with a paper backing that you remove and then apply just like foil. In this case the brand name is Nashua and they have a web address of Nashuatape.Com. This may give you a chance to check out the product information. The point is for less than the cost of a sheet of Bare Metal Foil they are offering a roll of foil 1.89 in. wide and 9.84 yds long.

How would you like to be on the hiway and have to sneeze? Bad enough with a steering wheel but having the throttle in your hand as well. -
The E-Tron is in all of their TV ads that I have seen. I would build it with a proper IT engine for myself.

Amazing looking build. Your usual attention to all the fine details.

Amazing looking especially considering what you had to start with.
