The continuing UPS problems and my latest issues. First the back info on how this got started. We replaced my wife's '14 Dodge Avenger RT with a new '21 Jeep Cherokee. This is a vehicle she has wanted for sometime and it was the right time for us to get her a new car. We ordered a factory type rear cargo cover thru Amazon at a big savings, Jeep wanted $325 and got the same thing for under $50 delivered. UPS was to deliver within 48 hrs. At the dealership the Cherokee we wanted was at a different dealer and they had to do a dealer trade and who ever put the vehicle in their system used the wrong Vin #. We live at the north - west corner of the metro area and the dealer is a short distance south of the metro. The dealer sends use a new set of documents with the correct Vin # to sign using UPS. AS timing would have it both deliveries happened on the same day by the same driver. Now in the past the UPS guy really hasn't been an issue but this time if it could go wrong it did. We live in an area where they are building a lot of new homes so more than half the homes on the area where we live are under some stag of construction. Ours is clearly lived in and has large street numbers on the post by the front door easily seen from the street. My wife's work from home desk is in the front bedroom and the street leading into our area and some of the first street where a lot of the building is going on can be seen from her desk. She sees a UPS truck come into the area and turn up the street in front of out house and stop. She thinks great the goodies we where expecting are here as promised. After a few minutes the truck goes on up the hill and turns into the first street. Maybe turning around so that they could park on the right side of the street in front ? No the truck sits there for about ten minutes and then leaves the area. A few days later Amazon calls to see if she got the part and she tells them no. Then we call the dealership about the paper work and they had paid for an over night delivery and we still hadn't gotten that either. A week goes by and a different UPS driver brings the docs from the dealership and when asked he checks with dispatch and we find out they were told that my wife told the delivery driver she didn't want the part until Sept. ???? We had to go to the UPS distribution center to pick up the cargo shade and find that the box looks like someone drove a truck over one end. The box is crushed and torn but some how the cover was undamaged. The people we dealt with at the center were very nice and helpful looking up who the driver was and found out the driver was a part time temp. Hope she can find other work soon. In order to speed up the paper work issues I drove down to the dealer with the docs and got that cleared up. But one lazy driver that would rather lie than due their job makes UPS an other wise good company look bad.

Looks great. Nor many so called sports cars can handle a black primer paint job and a set of nice mags. Nice save here.

Beautiful looking pair of movie cars. You managed to find a shade of green about as close to perfect as you can get for the Mustang. I like the way you did the "Action" photos of your builds.

The thing to remember about the Foose Kits is that except for the '56 Ford f100 they are little more than a straight reissue with some different wheels and decals. Hard to find fault with that. The '56 F100 is a unique kit in that it's a scale copy of his personal truck that has received some extensive body modifications for those who may not realize the background story of that pick up. As for the Iron Resurrection show I think they do some of the best metal fabrications you'll see on TV at this time. We get to try and due the same only with plastic.

I don't know if this is a Kansas thing, but when my wife went to renew her license, change the address and get the Gold Star so we can fly, she had to provide our marriage license as well. We have only been married since 1983. This was because her married name was different from her last name on her birth certificate ? and while born in Kansas we married when we were both living in California and they weren't to sure about those west coast people. The other problem was that since we moved she needed to prove that she lived at our new address. I had already gotten the car we were driving at the time registered at the new address, with no problems what so ever, and the person at the DMV used that as verification of home address since her name was also on the registration. Going to DMV can easily kill a day of your life you'll never get back.

I'll have to pass since they will not put factory air conditioning in it. That's my excuse for not being able to afford one.

Try looking at some of the colors offered by Tamiya. They offer a larger selection of Military colors as well that work well for interiors and convertible tops and they also usually have a flat finish.

Nice to see this coming back around. There are so many different things that can be made out of this.

I like the look and the paint finish. The factory optional Rally Wheels always looked good on the 1:1 also. Very cleanly detailed.

Many of these old movies make you wonder if the script writers knew anything at all about the automobile in general and Hot Rods and engine modifications especially.

I can see a lot uses for these colors for chassis parts as well.

I have used the Tamiya Smoked clear directly from the spray can with no bad effects on the "glass". I mask all of the area that I don't want painted including the interior window moldings or sun shades. Apply very light coats on the interior side of the glass. You want to sort of work up to the darkness you're after. The tricky part is that if you start doing to heavy a spray it will run very easily. Practice on some clear spruce or a section of glass from a model that has a bridge of clear between the windshield and the rear window or side glass. You wouldn't want to use that portion anyway since it will cover your headliner. I have seen builders use a very light coat of clear green or blue to represent OEM looking tinted glass. Less is more with this technique.

I usually use BMF but there are times that I will use Tamiya bottle paints. A trick I learned from another builder years ago has to do with out lining the area you're going to paint using a #11 blade. This builds a slight stop for the paint flow. I have done this with I have used the Molotow since I have had a hard time controlling it's flow. The area where the wiper blade bracket and the blade it's self is hard to detail but I have tried using either the Tamiya line paint or the smoke clear and it gives the area a little depth much like the air vents on the cowl area between the windshield and the back edge of the hood.
