I would want a couple of the Taxi's just for the Boss 429 engine. Don't normally collect die Cast but I will be getting a couple of the '61 Catalinas because I think they're a neat looking 1:1 Car.
Great looking finish and the chrome trim is all cleanly done. Maybe double check the rear bumper as it may be upside down unless it was done that way on purpose.
Great looking setup. Like Mike said this rig isn't going to be this pretty by late Saturday night. I remember many short tracks used to have a "Pretty Car Award" every night and this would have to be the winner.
I also just moved and I'm now unpacking. For myself I have saved most of the boxes that the model came in. I wrapped each model in the softest paper towel product I could fined. I purchased rolls of plastic bubble wrap to put around the model and put them back in the box they came in. With the models boxed up I put them in cardboard moving boxes and as stitchdup mentioned be sure the are not loose in the larger box. One nice thing about the soft towels is that they protect the paint with out any reaction between the paint and the plastic bubble wrap and any mirrors or what not that falls off should be held in the towel making it easier to find and remount later.
In addition to making it a lot easier to keep clean the semi-gloss finish reflects the overhead lights. In stead of a dark hole it becomes a well lite area to do anything else like cleaning the vehicles or even finding anything you drop. The overhead fans are next to help cool the area in the summer.
I just got done painting the inside of the garage in our new home. We recently down sized. Sold the big house with the big yard and everything that goes with that. The new garage is barely a two car since we can only open the doors on one car at a time. I have always treated the garage as another room in the home just for the cars. A coat of semi gloss white reflects the lights and makes the whole area seem brighter and much cleaner looking.
Now that's a great idea for this. I prefer the short wheel base models but that just requires a little surgery . If I build one it will be with the RT theme and the Charger nose.
Very realistic looking build. The paint finish looks better than the 1:1's did. I was lucky enough to be at the Winter Nationals in Pamona when Ford walked thru the class with the first Thunder Bolts.
Great job matching the car in the magazine. I remember when that mag came out and have it saved somewhere. I had a new one also but in Danube Blue with Black interior so I'm partial to the '66 Impala SS.
