    Revell VW Rabbit

Very nice clean build. I like the color, Rabbits always seemed to have bright colors like this.
  2. I followed your build on this and was very impressed with the way you did the body. Kind of a different color choice but sometimes that makes it standout that much more.

    1967 GTX

Beautiful build. I like the engine detailing. The windshield washer container with the mounting tab in white as it should be.
  4. Kudos in your restoration. This is a naturally beautiful body style but you really did it justice. Wish I was in a position to have a 1:1 car done, I would call you.
  5. It seems as if Hobby Lobby is getting serious about getting rid of old stock. At least in this area they usually just mark them down 40%, no big wow there. But this last week they have gotten serious about it and offered some great deals. Even if you don't care for the model subject there is a ton of parts that can be used elsewhere. As others mentioned the "Lawman" Plymouth, it had been $39.99 locally and I just couldn't justify that much even though its is a very nice kit. I picked up 2 @‌ $14.39 each and a '70 Pontiac pick-up/open sportster for $10.79. I have several '57 Ford Wagons in the stash now, but I'm a real fan of that subject so next week I'm going back to get one of those.
  6. When this was first issued, at least as I remember it, they included a '70's Mustang fastback. Remember that Petty drove Fords for one season, I think it was '69. I still think it's nice to have either of the kits back I think they should have offered the '69 Torino that Petty raced that year.
  7. Hope someone remembers to take pictures.
  8. Man , Dennis has really raised the bar on this one. Real wood, now that's the way to go.

    1970 Corvette

I have enjoyed looking at your Corvette builds and this one is one of the best so far. I had a co-worker that had one of these in Monaco Orange when it was just a couple of years old. That car could scare a big block Corvette any day of the week.
  10. That is what's called "Ridden Hard and put way wet". I think it's an old horse term for a horse that has been mistreated and that best describes your build. Very believable weathering and as you mentioned the glass crazing from the glue is also much like a car that has been in the hot sun all it's life.
  11. I agree with the others it looks more interesting as a wagon than a panel, and I like panels. The "wood" looks very real and the paint is nice and smooth also.
  12. Very impressive paint work. I like the look without the bumpers.
  13. They both look very nice. It would be nice to see additional photos if possible. I glad that you built the AMT Impala, always liked that kit.
  14. Very clean looking build, great fit and finish. I like that you used the fender flairs and spoiler. Paint looks great also.
  15. This should be a fun build with a lot of pictures on line for reference. I would have suggested starting with the Revell '67 Camaro kit since it contains many of the parts you have gotten from other kits. The chassis looks good so far.
  16. It's not just Hobby Shops. Everyone seems to be buying everything online and not visiting the Brick and Mortar stores anymore. This is not always the least expensive way to make a purchase. While not directly connected to modeling I had a recent experience that I think is a good example. In the past I have purchased several different sets of tires and wheels and tires on line from Tire Rack and Discount Tires. In the past it was a substantial savings, now not so much. Last month I needed to get new tires for the wife's car. I used Tire Racks vast information on the type of tires I was looking for, but the price plus the mounting and balancing locally seemed rather high compared to past purchases. Checking locally I found an independent tire store that I have used in the past and they have done impressive work on a couple of our vehicles in the past with alignments and wheel balancing. I also checked the local Costco store and found that both were competitive on price and Costco was the least of them all on the exact same Michelin tires. With the competitive nature of pricing today I think sometimes purchasers are short sighted in not shopping at local stores. Plus a lot less hassle if there is a problem with what you purchased.
  17. Beautiful build, almost hard to believe it's a model. Great color and interior combination. After looking at this I guess I really need to build one.
  18. Wow - very impressive build. Your attention to detail is exceptional. As others have mentioned this can be a difficult kit to get the doors and other things right. After looking at the engine compartment I keep seeing more and more of your attention to things like the hood release cables and the hood prop. Great use of different colors on the chassis to show each component. I also like the interior details as well.
  19. Beautiful build. The detailing is just outstanding. After looking at the first couple of pictures I had to check and see if this was the prototype or the model.
  20. I have been using Dawn brand dish soap for all my clean-up on resin and plastic. Cleans well and no reaction with any parts at all.
  21. I display my built models on an open book case in my "model room". I will use a feather duster and "canned air" to clean and blow away any dust. It seems to have worked for me for years, also allows me to spend that much more on new models and supplies.
  22. Looks much better with the stock bumper and trim. Those wheels also look right on this body style.

    '98 Firebird

Very impressive build. The wax build up in the little seams doesn't always appear in the first 24 hours.
  24. Great looking build. The paint is very impressive and the engine detailing looks great.
  25. It looks like you could get in and drive off. Very impressive arm rest/door pulls. I like the hat in the back seat, little thing like this add a great deal to the appearance.
