  1. Very impressive paint work. I like the look without the bumpers.
  2. They both look very nice. It would be nice to see additional photos if possible. I glad that you built the AMT Impala, always liked that kit.
  3. Very clean looking build, great fit and finish. I like that you used the fender flairs and spoiler. Paint looks great also.
  4. This should be a fun build with a lot of pictures on line for reference. I would have suggested starting with the Revell '67 Camaro kit since it contains many of the parts you have gotten from other kits. The chassis looks good so far.
  5. It's not just Hobby Shops. Everyone seems to be buying everything online and not visiting the Brick and Mortar stores anymore. This is not always the least expensive way to make a purchase. While not directly connected to modeling I had a recent experience that I think is a good example. In the past I have purchased several different sets of tires and wheels and tires on line from Tire Rack and Discount Tires. In the past it was a substantial savings, now not so much. Last month I needed to get new tires for the wife's car. I used Tire Racks vast information on the type of tires I was looking for, but the price plus the mounting and balancing locally seemed rather high compared to past purchases. Checking locally I found an independent tire store that I have used in the past and they have done impressive work on a couple of our vehicles in the past with alignments and wheel balancing. I also checked the local Costco store and found that both were competitive on price and Costco was the least of them all on the exact same Michelin tires. With the competitive nature of pricing today I think sometimes purchasers are short sighted in not shopping at local stores. Plus a lot less hassle if there is a problem with what you purchased.
  6. Beautiful build, almost hard to believe it's a model. Great color and interior combination. After looking at this I guess I really need to build one.
  7. Wow - very impressive build. Your attention to detail is exceptional. As others have mentioned this can be a difficult kit to get the doors and other things right. After looking at the engine compartment I keep seeing more and more of your attention to things like the hood release cables and the hood prop. Great use of different colors on the chassis to show each component. I also like the interior details as well.
  8. Beautiful build. The detailing is just outstanding. After looking at the first couple of pictures I had to check and see if this was the prototype or the model.
  9. I have been using Dawn brand dish soap for all my clean-up on resin and plastic. Cleans well and no reaction with any parts at all.
  10. I display my built models on an open book case in my "model room". I will use a feather duster and "canned air" to clean and blow away any dust. It seems to have worked for me for years, also allows me to spend that much more on new models and supplies.
  11. Looks much better with the stock bumper and trim. Those wheels also look right on this body style.

Very impressive build. The wax build up in the little seams doesn't always appear in the first 24 hours.
  13. Great looking build. The paint is very impressive and the engine detailing looks great.
  14. It looks like you could get in and drive off. Very impressive arm rest/door pulls. I like the hat in the back seat, little thing like this add a great deal to the appearance.
  15. The Petty hauler will be a welcome addition. I remember building this one years ago when it had a Ford Mustang included. The possibilities for this hauler are great. The Gremlin X is also a nice model.
  16. I like the lowered suspension and the fender flairs. The interior looks well done also.
  17. Great looking model of a great car. I also like the body colored hood on you build.
  18. Some time back I saw an article on the technique that you would use to do the panel painting. The subject was the custom multicolored paint jobs found on some Top Fuel Dragsters. The article showed how to mask and spray just using spray can paints. I wish I could offer you more information than that but maybe with a little research you could find the article and see if that would work for you. I think this would look good either way.
  19. I have a convertible kit that I just never got around to building. I also have a '56 Nomad kit that had the body destroyed by a paint failure. Maybe that would make a good bases for a '57 Nomad.
  20. Nice looking Ranchero. Are going to try the panel paint treatment from the picture? This should look great with the bed cover.
  21. Great looking build. The paint is outstanding and the interior looks perfect.
  22. Your real wood hull and deck look just like the old Chris Crafts I remember seeing in my youth. I like the flat head engine idea, but since the Merc. wagon has an overhead valve engine, might the boat engine match ?
  23. A great conversion. That would make a great light duty around town hauler in 1:1. Since the winter is coming I noticed you already got the snow tires on your rig. I like it a lot.
  24. In reality the best way to care for your lawn is to mulch every time you mow. Also best to get the correct mulching blade to get the maximum benefits. The clippings break down and become nutrients for the lawn. I try to keep the grass at a 3" to 4" to help keep the lawn weeds at bay. A funny store on myself last fall. We have several larger trees in the yard, Maple, Oaks, Sycamore, a Purple Ash, and a Crab Tree. The Cedars drop just a little and it all stays around their base. The leaves were several inches deep and I just kept going back and forth in the yard with the rider mower. Leaves were building up between the mower deck and the chassis and engine. I stopped for a drink of water when I started smelling something like a leaf fire. I was able to grab the garden hose and putout the flames before they destroyed the mower. Melted the air cleaner on the front of the engine and the plastic engine cover has a couple of "caricature " dips on the top from the heat. I would suggest keeping the mower deck clear at all times.
  25. I think the first issue of the Revell '69 Nova SS had the seats you need. Otherwise any first generation Camaro kit could provide what you need.
