They were common years ago and the only thing I didn't care for was they way the ink would keep flowing even when you slowed down your writing or if you stopped and didn't remove the pen from the paper immediately. Also the possibility of leakage when covered and you are moving about. I think that most all of these problems were solved with the ever improved Ball Point Pen.

Beautiful build. The body and paint looks like a perfect period build and is really well done. Lift the hood and you snap into today with the Weber's and braded fuel lines.

I especially like the 300 SL, but they all look outstanding. As an aside, in a couple of pictures I can see some of your paint supplies. Besides a far to organized work bench I noticed your Tamiya paints. Your bottles are squire where as the bottles we have here are round. While the contains are probably the same the different bottle shapes seem interesting.

I think what you're looking for is a 3- 2 barrel carburetor setup sometimes called 3 2's. I just did a '57 Ford Wagon with a setup from Hart's Parts. Outstanding quality, included the manifold, three carburetors and air cleaners. I also got the same set up for a small block Chevy with great Headmen headers. In the past I have made modified the kits bumpers removing the bumper guards. He offers resin bumpers without the bumper guards and still has the mounting pins. You will have to do the chrome treatment. He even offers universal "Blue Dots" for the tail lights.

Outstanding build. I love the way the body looks. You picked my favorite color so I'll just have to do something different with mine. I will be getting more as my allowance allows.

You might try using a flat edged wooden tooth pick to remove the paint where not wanted on the hub caps. As for the painting itself I have used a Pigma Micron brand pen I got at Office Depot. They offer some other colors also. I used their "05" pen in Red and it worked great. I have also used their White pen for White stripe tires, and Red over White for Red line tires.

Beautiful interior. I find it interesting that you went with the column shift since it seems as though everyone, including myself, goes for the floor shift. Nice to see someone doing something that simple but sets their build apart. Being plastic it doesn't really matter, but being the former owner of many "Three on the Tree" vehicles this might offer a problem. Back in the day a Pool Ball or even a Beer Tap Handle was somewhat common. The problem came about with the weight of the new shift ball. The automatic transmission cars were not as bad as the manuals, but if the shift ball was to heavy it would cause the transmission to pop out of gear. Look forward to how the build progresses.

If you're looking for a really good polish think about using Mother's Wheel polish. It sure works great on 1:1's.

Beautiful paint job. Just how hot were these cars ? As Bill Geary mentioned they were not to be messed with. I had a '68 Bel Air with a 427 and 4-speed, that weighed in at 4300 lbs., and I didn't even get a good look at the guys tail lights.

Just a thought on the interior. If Fran had done nothing to the interior as you are thinking maybe it would be the old Mohair material. If that is something you would consider I have used Model Masters spray Fabric Tan and Fabric Gray and if looks very convincing.

The body work is just perfect and it's great to see a well built Flathead for power. I don't know what to tell you on the paint issues, I only use paint from the same "family" for this reason. Hopefully with time the paint will gas out and all will be good.

I tend to agree on the darker tan interior idea, but with the colors your using you might try an aged dark green colored interior. I'm thinking something like an aged maybe even cracked old leather look. Try it on a spoon and see if it even looks right to you.

I have enjoyed watching all of your repairs and modifications on this '58. Have you thought of using a '57 hood or is that not in your plans ?

Very realistic interior. Are the red stripes a decal ? The kits wheels are pretty open so any brake detail should stand out.

Beautiful chassis and engine. I like the interior also. I've never built this kit, but I will consider it after seeing yours. I have just started using the Molotow pen and wondered how I ever lived without it.

You are both correct. My Bad, I misspoke on this one. As you pointed out the '55 is very disproportioned front end. I actually have an AMT '53 Ford F-100 sitting on my side board for a build this year sometime. I was at the Hartland Show this weekend and picked up a Foose F-100. Guess what I'm starting next. This kit is really great and looks like what a '56 shoulda kouda looked like. As mentioned before I personally think the '56 F-100 was Ford's best looking truck but that is only my opinion.

The only pop up I'm getting today is for Lowes so that sort of tells you all about my life. Last week I was checking on tires for my wife's car and Tire Rack has been hunting me also. Ya those Russkis are into everything now I guess. They are taking over the lonely hearts clubs now.
