  1. Really turned out great. I like the "new tires" wrapped in the bed. That really sets the time line for this build.

    1964 Caddy

What a great looking Caddy. Beautiful super smooth paint and all the little details , like the headlights, really set it apart. The wheels are what really gives it the "presents" or look.
  3. It looks like your Clear paint was to "hot". Maybe see if the supplier of the body color coat offers a clear that would be compatible.
  4. I have also purchased this kit for the same reasons but for a different build. If you can get $8 to $10 for what remains I think that would be a good deal for both parties. The person buying your kit would have a chassis and suspension. Wheels and tires and an interior. They could even use parts of the body to update an older Mustang. For my self I would hang onto the remains for all of the reasons mentioned.
  5. I don't know for sure about the fit between the AMT and Revell Camaros as far as the hoods, but I have my doubts that they would just fit. The same for the '68 grill but it wouldn't take much. Just add a little material to the hood as needed, or removed. The same for say an AMT '68 Camaro grill. The remark I made about the AMT '68 Camaro body had to do with the proportions of the body and the way it is shaped. Others have posted here the problems, and also the cures, on these bodies. I think if you can look at the body before investing in the kit you'll see what I mean. An old AMT '68 Camaro kit at a swap meet still might be less expensive than buying a resin reproduction grill that you might have to work on anyway. I just think the new Revell kit would make a better basis for the body. Oldr-N-Drt, I love that name I'm going to change mine to Farts Dust, suggested the resin body made of this exact Camaro and in the long run that may be the answer.
  6. I would suggest starting with the Revell '67 Camaro instead of any of the AMT kits. The reason being the AMT kits had body proportion issues. Since you're going to be doing body modifications anyway the '68 grill shouldn't be a problem, and the rear spoiler and rear valance area are all going to be fabricated also. The pictures you have should be a perfect guide for the rear. In a resent build on the forum the builder used pieces cut from a plastic spoon to create the fender flares and they looked perfect. I'll enjoy watching this build. I have owned several Camaros in the past including a '69 that I had for a total of 18 years, I was the second and forth owner.
  7. Great looking 4X4. Thanks for the tip on the hood. The tires look perfect. I would consider a touch of paint or a wash on the bead locks on the wheels.
  8. Very nice clean looking build. I just got out of the habit of painting everything that color, now you know what color the next build will be.
  9. The Vette looks great and I really like the colors. The trailer is very nice also. What kit had that in it ?? If you haven't already you should post pictures of your Diorama in that section on the Forum.
  10. Great looking build. The interior almost looks to nice for a Law Enforcement car.
  11. That looks Plum Crazy cool. I also like the wheels.
  12. You sure that isn't a real engine ??
  13. The Hub Caps should be readily available if you list what you need on the Wanted part of this forum. The same for the white walls. Another source for the tires would be Round 2 / AMT offer some very nice Firestone Deluxe Champion tires in both wide and thin stripe styles. Pegsus now offers some wheels and tires now that look great also.

    Napalm Nova

Turned out perfect to the 1:1. Great attention to detail.
  15. Beautiful build. Outstanding attention to all the little details. Very real looking.
  16. Great looking build. Lots off detailing.
  17. Beautiful looking build. I like the front splitter, is that a rear diffuser ??
  18. I have no doubt but what such a vehicle existed at one time. As you mentioned this was and is a common practice in the development of any new model. The paint and interior look great and I'll look forward to watching your build.
  19. I have used the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement and have been less than thrilled with the results. I wouldn't buy it again for all the reasons mentioned by others. For a majority of my assemblies I use Model Master Liquid Cement and sometimes Zap-A-Gap Medium CA+ when needed. Windows I have been using Aleene's Jewel-It that I purchased at a fabric shop. Someone else on this Forum recommended it and I have been using it ever since. Of course there are many other options that other members have tried and they may be worth trying also.
  20. Beautiful looking build. I don't think they would look that good after a few years of service. I noticed the "salt" spreader and how close to the roadway it rides. I think that's a very good idea, around here the KDOT (Kansas Department of Transportation) likes to have them closer to windshield height so that they can spray your hood and windshield and any other car on either side of the truck.

    '37 Ford

Turned out great. I like the interior, but I think it looks best displayed with the top on.

    '34 Ford

Looks great. If you ever decide to redo this you could remove the inner fenders that are attached to the frame and then you could add headers.
  23. Great looking build. All of the trim looks perfect to the 1:1. I like the later time period "pin" white walls.
  24. One thing you might try on the trim if you're not already doing it. I would use a #11 blade and outline the moldings just like you were cutting foil. Use a very fine brush with what ever color paint you're going to use, and let a little paint at a time from the brush sort of flow on the moldings. The "cut" from the blade forms a stop for the paint to stay off body panels.
