    1948 Ford

    - First build 2017 '48 Ford from Police Kit.
  2. Great looking build.
  3. Yes they will interchange with no problems. Funny I was in the model shop today and they had one of these kits. From the looks of the box art it is a straight reissue with new box art. They were sending it back to their supplier for a credit. They offered it to me at a price that I felt was very good so I bought it. I don't often build Box Stock or Showroom Stock, so this gave me the chassis for a Resin Sedan Delivery project, and I've got the Fuel Injection set up which I like, and all the other bits and pieces. I'll find something to do with the Bel Air body later.
  4. All of your modifications came together perfectly. Major work done on the posts on the roof but you wouldn't know it to look at it now.
  5. Nice clean looking build. I like your color choice.
  6. Great looking build. The Black color really makes it look mean.
  7. Very nice, clean. I bet this brings back some good memoires.
  8. Beautiful build and the craftsmen ship for the suspension is outstanding.
  9. Thank you for sharing the picture. I find that sort of thing very interesting. We become indifferent to how things are made sometimes.
  10. Thank you for sharing the great photos.
  11. I understand now what you're thinking. Your car must have been a 220h.p. 283cu.in. car. These may have come with the old Rochester carbs. I think any of the Revell '56 or '57 Chevy kits could provide about the best option. In '66 G.M. started using Qjets on most all of the 4 barrel engines. Can't remember many 220 h.p. engines that I may have worked on, but every 327 thru 427 engine was using the Qjet, save the top H.P. engines that had Holly carbs.
  12. Weathering looks perfect to me, wouldn't change a thing. I like how you created all of the roof cargo.
  13. No big deal really, but upon checking two built models on the shelf, I can see that the 1:1 differences between the Bel Air and the 150 interiors are present. The dash in the 150 doesn't have the Bel Air polished aluminum dash insert and is a radio delete style. The seat pattern is also more basic on the 150.
  14. Outstanding chassis and engine detailing. The paint job really makes it stand out.
  15. Beautiful paint job. I liked that you made the trunk lid look like an unfinished work in progress.
  16. Great build. I like the paint finish, it looks like black in the photos. The engine detailing is very impressive.
  17. As I'm sure you are finding out the options with models, especially from the '60's is better than ever. I'm wondering about the 4gc carb. you mentioned. I'm somewhat versed in Chevrolets as a whole but the 4gc is not something I'm familiar with. If you could describe it maybe I can help you as to where to look.
  18. Great looking body, clean trim and a good color combo. The Molotow pen that you and others have mentioned. I have looked everywhere and have not been able to find one. I have looked at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Office Depot, and a local arts store with no luck. Any additional places I should check ??
  19. I agree with the others, this looks like a very well organized build unlike what my desk looks like. You mentioned the exhaust installation. The problem that they are talking about I think has to do with the interior floor boards. If the exhaust is on top of the differential when you install the floor boards to the frame it will work. I think what they were suggesting was that in their build sequence the floor boards would be mounted on the frame before the rear springs are mounted. Then it would be almost impossible to install the exhaust.
  20. I think that may have been the name of the original builder. At least all of the rare Custom Accessories are present and accounted for.
  21. The Revell '69 Nova SS, the original small block kit, would be your best bet for the engine. The base engine is a Quadrajet small block and it has the correct cast iron exhaust manifolds. The optional Headers are a two piece affair and are very well done. The optional 2-4's are great for the parts box. I used the El Camino flat hood on a Chevelle Wagon project and it worked perfect. I also used the bucket seats from the El Camino on the wagon, they both have the correct Malibu Interior pattern. The '57 Chevy Bel Air tudor has two small block engine & transmissions included. One is a 3 speed manual and another with the Power Glide but is the older cast iron case instead of the Aluminum case you would have had if yours was a Power Glide.
  22. I like your color choice. What do you have in mind for the roof color?? I would avoid leaving the clear plastic masking on the body very long. I used this method once and the plastic wrap reacted with the paint on the main body, it was a mess. It may have been the brand of clear wrap I used, Glad Press'n Seal.
  23. I know of what you speak. A little over twenty years ago I used an AMT '57 Ford hardtop to make a copy of a '57 Ford Convertible that I had in my youth. The next year we moved to the Kansas City area and the packing that goes along with that. Last year I saw a drawing of the new Revell '57 Ford made into a Convertible and that got me to thinking about that roof that I had removed years ago. I then removed the sedan roof and added the hardtop roof from the old AMT kit to make a low line hardtop. You learn to never through anything away, you just never know when you're going to need it.
  24. Beautiful looking custom. Great colors, and the body and chopped top flow together well.
  25. The TS-86 Pure Red is a Red Red for lack of a better description. To my eye it looked more like a bright Red but didn't have any Orange to it. TS-49 Bright Red is a very bright Ferrari type Red. The TS-85 Bright Mica Red has a hint of metallic. Some times online images just like printed images just don't turn out quiet the same. They also have a TS-12 Orange if you're looking for something along that line.
