  1. Saw a Corona beer commercial last night, the audacity of some advertisers. (sarcasm) I was going to break open a new kit to begin working on since school has been cancelled and I will be out of work for two weeks;. But since it was manufactured in China, how do I know it is not infected and I will contract COVID-19? After all I have had it for only three years. I am scared, really scared.
  2. Very nice looking bike, those came out a few years past my bicycle riding time. What scale is this? Is that a "racing slick" on the rear?
  3. That is one great thing about the Gasser and Altereds classes; as far as body style, anything could be used.
  4. I think it is probably too late to keep politics out of the discussion. Too much of the media is trying everything possible to tie this to the supposed unconcern of one political party. That problem is only going to get worse and the discussion more silly.
  5. Most of these pictures are from the NASCAR West division. Very few, if any, full-size coupe/sedans ran in what was then the Grand National series. As far as Galaxies, I would think someone may have built one. I have plans on using my '65 Pontiac to build one of these West Coast variants.
  6. Definitely one different build. Looks a bit scary to drive, that is a whole lot of weight on some mighty small wheels and tires. Still one mighty fine looking Gasser and I really like that fuelie Corvair.
  7. Some of those early dragsters make me want to go hide in a closet, especially the three-wheelers. It was all about speed, safety be-damned. Love those pictures., saw a couple of ideas of how I could use some leftover parts.
  8. Most of my fond memories of the flight line were in a bread-truck with a bunch of other avionics maintenance people cruising around during launch to perform any minor repairs needed. Played many a hand of spades and pinochle in those trucks. I have often thought of trying to build one of those.
  9. That sounds logical. But if I am in that bucket and going to be spraying the T-Tail on a C-141 I would want extended stabilizers. You are doing an excellent job with this build; looking forward to updates.
  10. Retired in '89 and saw a few of these in Korea, Ohio, Oklahoma, and even North Carolina. Didn't pay a lot of attention to them, my job was inside the aircraft, working avionics. Really like where you are going with this one. Going to be fun to watch you doing the scratchbuilding. One thing I noticed in the pictures is a lack of stabilizers. I sort of thought those were required on any highlift vehicle. I know when I had to repair the HF antennas on C-130's and B-52's, those had to be extended and in place or QC or Safety would ream us a new one. Looking forward to your progress.
  11. Very beautiful 'Thunderchero'. The color you chose really adds to the luxury of this build. Also like the proportions of the top with the rest of the body; too many of these conversions just don't look right. Howeve,r this one looks very well done.
  12. Mighty fine looking Gasser, really like the idea of using a sedan delivery. One thing I noticed is the class designation should be B/G not B/GS, the 'S' indicates supercharged. Still an excellent build.
  13. Mighty fine looking Gasser. Looks like it just rolled out of the 60's. Nice choice of color, adds to the overall look.
  14. Since the pick-up window is rectangular in shape I would think the rectangle shape on the top of the sprue just might be the rear window for the pick-up. I could be wrong, I have built three or four of these kits and have more in my stash, and do not remember any of them having the wrong rear window.
  15. At my age patience in not a virtue.
  16. Since issue #206 came out in November, I guess it is too early to expect anything on issue #207. Just wondering.
  17. I really like this particular body style F-series pickups. Also like the multitude of two-tones available on these. Your build is an excellent example of a fine looking truck. Sweet build.
  18. OK, I know someone thought they were being creative, and I will not knock that thought. However, there are not enough "u's" in UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGLY to really say what I think of these monstrosities.
  19. That is one sexy street rod. Nothing sweeter than an A-bone in the garage.
  20. Oh yeah, very nice build. I had a '74 that same color and a '78 King Cab also that color of blue. Love both of those trucks. Put Jackman 8-spoke wheels on both of them. The '74 got sideswiped by a drunk driver, so I put a California Step-side conversion on it, never got it painted, finally traded for the '78.
  21. If you go to the personal hygiene section of WalMart they have nylon mesh bath puffs (for lack of a better description) in multiple colors. They normally sell for around $1. These can be cut to any size you need and by stretching them you are able to make almost any size mesh you desire. The window net on this 1?32 Mustang is an example. I stretched the mesh out and pinned it to a piece of cardboard, used masking tape on both sides to make the edges, which I later cut to the proper size. It can also be painted.
  22. Just completed a great trade with Bisc63. Trade went smoothly and received the parts I needed.
  23. Just wondering if there is any update on issue #207.
  24. Not much for the lowered look, but you have done some mighty fine detail work to this rescue. Really like the work you did with the bed and the front bumper/grille. Exceptionally nice overall build.
  25. One mighty sweet El Camino. That color really sets it off.
