  1. Excellent rear end treatment!! Makes me want to do one.
  2. I did not answer your question to be a smart---. If you look at Rick's photo, one wagon is true to the one-to -one with smooth, straight edges, and the other is mis-proportioned in that the rear compartment is too short and the roof has as many waves in it as my hair. The good one with the woodgrain is from The Modelhaus, and the other is from whats his name.
  3. Excellent!!!! Great attention to detail!!!!
  4. I got mine, and I am very impressed, except that it needs a set of Cragars, which I will pluck from my '61 Catalina kit. One question, did the real one have a roll bar?
  5. I love this truck!!!! I have a resin short bed Ford in my stash to do something similar. I just bought a twin scooped hood for mine to give it some flavor. I have to do a little research to see what else I have to get. I know you will do this build justice!
  6. I dare ya!
  7. It took some serious practice, but I am satisfied with my Motolow pens. I am still using Bare Metal Foil for most of my chrome work. I cannot afford the other stuff.
  8. A few years ago, I restored a beat up Red '66 T-Bird Town Hardtop promo, using parts from a $5.00 Convertible kit, and it came out great, Strange thing, I have the original annual kits of the Town Landau, and the Convertible, as well as a couple of the later issues of the kit , and a rather ratty '65 Thunderbird Hardtop, which I plan to turn into a '66 Hardtop. There was a white one-to-one, that I really liked.
  9. I still have several of the old annual and the original "new tool" 1966 Fairlane kits in the stash to build. I probably will not buy this version, but the box art, and the white styrene are very nice selling points.
  10. I pulled out the "California Flash" version of the Moebius '65 Plymouth Belvedere I, and it looks to me as if it is a very good representation of a 1965 A990 Car, in that it has a proper race hemi, and the appropriate interior upgrade , with the rear seat blanked out, and the shipping exhaust system. The original Moebius 1965 Belvedere I sedan is at best, an upgraded street machine, that cannot be built as a replica stock automobile without a trip to the parts box and some scratch building. I looked at a photo of an actual A990 car that was recently sold at auction, and I noticed that the kit lacks a NHRA legal roll cage, and a set of Cragar S/S wheels, even though I saw a few pictures of one running the American Mags, which are in the kit. The body is very nice, and highly polished. I will probably have to get another one of these to do an accurate "Black Arrow". I'll have to source an automatic transmission, column shifter, and a roll bar. An A990 Dodge Coronet would be a very nice addition, as well an altered wheelbase version.
  11. Look hard at the pictures. Rick has done a lot of work on the model, and while they are not of Modelhaus quality, the subject matter is interesting. If that is acceptable to you, go for it!!!! I am not going to write anything disparaging, so there.
  12. Bernard, We meet the third Saturday of most months at the Greenbelt community center in Greenbelt. See the attached site for more info. http://www.mamasboyz.org You will get a real kick out of our meetings. Bring a few of your finished cars, as well as anything you have under construction. I look forward to seeing you there.
  13. Robert, I have only took a cursory look at the California Flash Car. If I can get to the cars in the next few days, I'll be happy to answer your questions. If I really like the California Flash kit, I may get another one to use as the basis for the Black Arrow, and turn the other one into a L.A. Police Cruiser. They showed one on an Adam 12 Re-Run Today. I can do the work to turn it into a 4-door.
  14. Looks like you have your work cut out for you. From looking at your photos, it looks a little soft around the front end. If you get a chance, why don't you bring it to the M.A.M.A. meeting, since you are local. I , for one would love to see it.
  15. I built one of those back in 1970. I never had the "Motor City Stocker" version. I liked the kit.
  16. Yes, the roof is too short. There are other issues with the body, but it goes together very nice, and has good detail. I did one of the green ones as a slump buster, and I am very happy with everything bit those goofy stickers for the stripes.
  17. I have 3 of them. 2 of the original kit, and a Butch Leal version. The first one of the original had a twist in it, but I was able to straighten it out. This one is going to be built as a "Black Arrow", as I bought the decals a while back, and after seeing Jim's build, I want to do one. The second one and the "California Flash" version were perfect. I mocked up my Satellite, and it went together well.
  18. I sold a lot of Chevy Astro Vans when I was in the business. They were built not too far from me at the Baltimore plant. I bought this kit when it first came out, and noticed that is indeed a non U.S. spec van, as it is a cross between an LS and LT trim level. I only wish that they did a cargo version of this kit. It would have sold well. The build is very nicely done.
  19. It's a funny thing. I have only built one early Falcon ( a '61 Ranchero about 40 some odd years ago), but I have several to do, as I just picked up a '62 Sedan to clean up and restore. I like where that one you are doing is going. A set of Ansen Sprints, or Cragar S/S wheels would look great on it.
  20. I just picked up one of those scoops for a future project.
  21. Fantastic work!!!!
