  1. Nice looking goat so far!
  2. I like the "V" idea, but it looks "thick" to me. How about foil copying the V from the trunk of a Revell '59 Ford ( or is it on the chrome sprue?)?
  3. Flat sequins should do just fine: https://www.ebay.com/itm/20mm-PVC-Flat-Round-loose-Sequins-Paillettes-sewing-Wedding-Craft-Accessories/224230182521?hash=item3435290e79:g:6S0AAOSwDxdfq18B
  4. For those interested, here's a nice write-up about how the Barris boys came to be: http://www.coachbuilt.com/bui/b/barris/barris.htm
  5. Wow, that looks so nice. Man, there must have been a million of these things on the road back then. Dad had a '79 2 door with the "bent glass" rear window.
  6. Glad to see you've returned to this one!
  7. Ooh, that is looking fine!
  8. Good start!
  9. Nice model; need to dig mine out, too. Glad you added the decals; now it's a race car!
  10. That green was a great choice!
  11. VERY nice!
  12. Love your building style and paintwork. The Mopar is particularly realistic, and the color combo on the Willys is flat out SHARP! I'd like to see that color scheme on the '63 Impala! ( one of my sentimental favorites)
  13. Phidaupho, sorry to skew things a bit off topic, so back to the point...will you be unchopping that top a bit; agree it looks just a little too low.
  14. " Never meet your heroes"
  15. Agree that the figure might more accurately represent Sam, as what I've read says Sam's work on his own Merc is what inspired Hirohata to commission Sam (or Barris shop?) to do a Merc for him. The more I read about George, the less I like him.?
  16. Good to see one of these built; you did a great job!
  17. Probably the nicest build I've ever seen of this kit; just outstanding!
  18. VERY clean build, beautiful colors, and so realistic!
  19. Really enjoyed watching this build, and the detail photos here show just how clean your build is; just superb!
  20. People love to hate this kit, but at the end of the day, a clean build like yours is still a handsome display piece. NICE work!
  21. Should be the box-art car if it's ever re-released!
  22. Outstanding build; very realistic. The paint work really accents the lines of the car.
  23. My favorite way to simulate those seams is to not fight gluing down any strips, but use masking tape to define the edges of the seam or seams. You will have to take your time to get a nice, thin opening between the parallel strips of tape, then take a spatula or finger and lay your favorite putty down the entire exposed strip, raking it off flush to the surface of the tape. Immediately remove the tape, leaving a nice raised strip that you can easily sand and contour when dry, then prime and paint! I prefer a catalyzed automotive putty, for speed, but any will do.
