  1. I was watching a rerun last night of the "Trans Am" series from a couple of years ago. They have a voice over trying, and I mean trying to explain the birth of the Muscle Car. The voice stated a bunch of facts as to the '49 Oldsmobile 88 being the start of it all. On the screen we're enjoying watching a '53 Oldsmobile being driven around. They had many other such miss ques. You would think that they could afford an automotive consultant to keep the facts straight.
  2. I think if you were to study some pictures of 1:1 4 door sedans you could create the B Pillar and window surrounds for the side windows and make a reasonable 4 door sedan out of the hardtop. May not be 100 % but I think it could be made to look very close.
  3. This is true of the recent building of his own car. The Wheeler Dealer series up until it ended had Mike as the lead person and Ant doing the heavy lifting. I'm not down on Mike so much, I just think that Ant is much more informative about the how and what of the things he is doing. Mike does his little "Dog and Pony" show selling the finished product. I have enjoyed a couple of his most recent shows were he visits other aspects of the car culture. The editor from Low Ridder Magazine looked a couple of times like he was getting a little bored with him though. Last night on the first I watched something with Mike that is based in England. This show may have been around for a while, I just hadn't seen it before. He had a mechanic named Elvis and they would flip a couple of cars to get something that someone else wanted. Last night they started with a Mini that they flipped, he got a Horse Trailer, called a horse box, I guess that's the same thing. Then he got a Honda that they flipped and sold the trailer and got this guy a Land Rover that he wanted.
  4. Please post in the appropriate area of the Forum when a fellow builder might be able to obtain one or two.
  5. Very smooth looking cruiser. The filled hood bullets and the partial side trim removal were the easiest ways to change the appearance back then.
  6. Looks great, sort of like a car that might see a lot of daily use.
  7. Very nice looking diverse collection. I don't think I have ever seen those display cases stacked that high before. That should keep them dust free alright.
  8. Great looking and very clean build. I like the showroom style build. The ride height might be a little high but not enough to worry about. The Red Line Tires are period perfect on this.
  9. Great paint job and all of the other finishes look good also. My next build sort of like many others here.
  10. I would like to see them start a series with Ant as the lead character. What I liked about the original Wheeler Dealer series was how they would show the mechanical repairs and upgrades. I think that Ant is better at this part than the original even as good as it was. Mike is OK, but more of the fluff than anything else.
  11. All the best from your southern boarder. I like your poster.
  12. There were several new '57 T-Birds that got Kustomized way back when. I think Dean Jeffries did a nice paint job and a padded roof treatment. You can bet that George Barris did a few along with many others. I recall a family friend that had a '56 T-Bird, they were very close proportionally, that had added a 3x2 setup on his engine. The grill on the hood scope had to be changed on the underside because of carb. clearance issues. Ford Motor Company had one at Speed Week at Daytona Fl. with a fairing on the rear deck and bubble covers for the headlights.
  13. This picture of the Chevelle with the added '69 Camaro spoiler. In the 1:1 world the '69 Camaro spoiler is wider than the '68 version. I don't know right off what we have to work with in 1/24th & 1/25th but it maybe that the narrower '68 spoiler, if done to scale, might fit better for those who want to do this type of build.
  14. Great looking build and an interesting subject.
  15. Beautiful looking build. I agree on the color and finish and it does look very realistic.
  16. Great looking color and I like the style of the black hood and window surround. Mopar + Cragars + RWL tires = perfect look.
  17. I like your design plans for this. Great idea to raise the inner fenders instead of just cutting them away. The factory front spoiler on these always looked like they just came off of a Trans Am race car. I would think that a true Pro Touing car would be more concerned with the smooth body as opposed to the rain dripping on you getting in and out of the car.
  18. I'll have to remember your headlight tubing idea for the future. Odd that they would leave out something that is so obvious.
  19. I think cobraman's suggestion would be the closest to what you're looking for. Looking thru my spray cans from both Tamiya and Testors the only other one I could find that might be close is Testors #1628 Competition Orange in enamel.
  20. Great looking Gasser. After eight years away you will be amazed at how nice the newer kits are.
  21. I wasn't sure by looking at the picture. Good way to handle that. The acid test is painting while doing the laundry.
  22. I hope your booth exhaust isn't integrated with the Dryer vent. This could bring a whole new meaning to lint in the paint problem.
  23. The rear chassis/suspension looks well presented . Interesting inner support for the hood, this may be a more accurate kit than some have said.
  24. Use a mask going in and out of stores. Went out to breakfast at our favorite place last week on a Monday morning. We had most of the dinning area to our selves and all of the wait staff were masked up. I'll error on the side of safety on the mask thing. Well over 65, enlarged heart, high blood pressure, and allergic to anything green and blooms. Other than that all is good.
